I Talk, You Listen

Monday, June 29th, 2009

untitled.bmp

I was checking out the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia’s website 1Malaysia and started following him on twitter as well just to see how the new Prime Minister will engage with Malaysians and if its a genuine interest to listen or?  The website gave me the impression as very cosmetic and it was run by a web team and I’m not sure if the PM has any input into the website.

Then when i reached his twitter page, i was right… Not much has changed! Its another i talk, you listen case. He had 2,087 followers at the time this print screen was taken and he does not follow anyone!

Cabinet Reshuffle?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

superstock_1433r-944507

We are getting so close to a new leadership. With new leadership normally comes change! But what is change with the same faces in new clothes? Anyway.. The PM in waiting has hinted that there is going to be a major reshuffle in the cabinet. This means, ministries will have new leaders, new directions and those who used to work under the current crop have got some re-adjusting to do.

What does this mean to Malaysians? I have my opinions…… But, ill save it for another day! Maybe after the “honeymoon period”

Earth Hour Malaysia Launched!!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Earth Hour is finally happening in Malaysia! It was confirmed today via the Earth Hour websites that Malaysia will take part in this global event which will happen for the 3rd year. If you don’t know what Earth Hour is, it is a campaign that calls for individuals, businesses, governments to come together and to take a stand against climate change by a simple act of turning off your lights for a hour!

Simple yet has a huge impact! The event started in Sydney back in 2007 with 2.2million people taking part and went global this year with 35 countries and 50 million people taking part. Next year the target is 1billion people and 1000 towns around the world participating.

It will happen on the 28th of March 2009 between 8.30pm-9.30pm. In Malaysia hopefully we will have major landmarks and buildings around the country switching off with everyone coming together to take a stand against climate change. You may think that what does 1 hour do to help climate change??

But think about it if every one of us does our but, don’t you think collectively we can make a difference?

Watch the below video about previous Earth Hour’s (more…)

PM’s Office

Friday, November 21st, 2008

It was a busy week for me last week. Where i work we are planning a huge event for next year which is very important for the country and Malaysians at large in my view. With the planning of this event i had to go to many high profile places and meet some top top people to get them to support the event which i will highlight as we go by.

Just to give you a idea of who is required to endorse or rather support this event.

Yea its a bad picture but when your walking around a high security area its a little hard to take any pictures using a ancient camera on my museum material phone. A clearer image of another place which is in the headlines a lot

Yeap, the infamous 4th floor!! It was a pretty cool experience and the building is as nice on the inside as the outside! The view from inside the building is breath taking and it was day..Imagine the nights!

Nice eh! :)

Anyone Can Be PM?

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Saw a interesting report on The Star today :

It is possible for anyone from a minority group to be a nation’s leader, even in Malaysia, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi. “It is up to the people to decide, just as the Americans had done through the democratic process,” he said while extending his congratulations to Senator Barack Obama

So there you have it! If you are wondering it doesn’t matter who you are, what your religious background is…You can be the Prime Minister!

Or was he sleepy when he said what he said and it actually can never happen here??

Website Of The British PM

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

The latest website that i stumbled upon and follow is the website of the Prime Minister of Britain, Gordon Brown. Its called Number10.gov.uk and its the website that updates the people of Britain and around the world about the where a bouts and what the Prime Minister has been up to.

Its a superb site that clearly gives its readers clear and precise information which they are great! With the current turbulent economic times, i have seen the measures that the Prime Minister has been taking to minimize the impact to the country.

Same Script Different Outcome

Children and Adults Making Way Into PM's Open House

Children and Adults Making Way Into PM

Hindraf has been back in the front line lately with the whole PM’s open house “biadap” episode with police now in the equation to add to their misery. Before i get into how a the same script had 2 different outcome ,let me share a something which i found pretty amusing.

K Shanthi , the wife of Hindraf chairperson P Waythamoorthy, Hindraf information chief S Jayathas and Selangor coordinator K Tamilselvam were interrogated today for illegal assembly under Section 27 (5) of the Police Act, as well as trespass under Section 447 of the Penal Code.

What illegal assembly and what trespass? It was a open house for heavens sake!

Anyway…back to the script

Pak Lah To Retire In March

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

So the cat is out of the bag, PM Badawi has announced to not to defend his Umno president’s post and will quit in March next year when the ruling party meets for its annual general assembly. The current PM is set to be he PM who held the premiership for the shortest time frame ever clocking 5years and 5months in office, 1month shorter than Hussein Onn who had to resign due to health reasons.

Now the transition plan to his deputy is underway with Najib set to become the next Prime Minister of the country. That is provided Najib bags the UMNO top post un-contested.Interesting that the PM still wants to hold on to office for 5 months for the “transition plan” to take effect and the transition is smooth.

So is Najib what Malaysia wants?
