Fuel Prices May Drop

This is music to everyone ears. A report from the star indicated the price of petrol may drop if crude oil prices stay at US$125 (RM408) per barrel for at least three week. I’m curious, when the price of fuel increased..Operational cost and production cost increased with everyone claiming that it was impossible to run their businesses without increasing the price to the consumer. So if there is a drop in price of fuel are all these other prices going to drop as well??? I don’t think so!

In most countries the price of fuel is determined by the world oil price, soo fuel could cost RM 2.70 today and RM 1.80 next month or even go up too RM4.00 in 6 months time. But prices of goods and services are not effected, how is that possible??? I think planning is key!

Yes the nation was furious when the price increased by 40% , then Anwar and gang came out to pledge that if the Pakatan takes over the price will drop by 50 cents the next day. Then the debate that toke place on the fuel prices happened. Now the government are considering in reducing the price of fuel …YEY but before you get too excited, lets look at the larger spectrum…

How much more are you paying for your goods and services(minus the new cost of fuel) now compared too before? Whats the ratio?? For me..the I’m paying so much more for other stuff as compared to just fuel.. Price of food,electricity,services have all shot up!! Now if the price of fuel reduces, I’m going to save a little on the fuel but the others????

Planning doesn’t look like the best attribute of the government eh! Subsidies are great but if it were planned better, the people really can enjoy the fruit of all this hard work that is happening in the background.

Its all about the money isn’t it? Survival is in question nowadays and those in power need to do a much much better job for the people because those waiting in the wings seem to have a plan that’s waiting to be executed!

iPhone 3G

iphone3g

Apple has announced the release of their second generation iPhone. The launch date for the new iPhone 3G is planned for 11th July 2008. Apple will be launching the new phone world wide in stages.

Apple has also slashed the price of the new iPhone. USD199 for the 8GB model and USD299 for the 16GB model. This will surely boost Apple’s market share in the coming months.

iPhone 3G does come with a few goodies under it’s hood. GPS, full 3G support, App Store, support for Microsoft’s exchange server, support for more languages and many other enhancements including a scientific calculator.

I think the iPhone is pretty awesome and dropping the price to this extend is naturally going to flood the market with these little machines, i just hope it makes a appearance in this region.

Oil Producing Nations

So we hear so much from our government that our prices despite the increase to RM2.70 a litter is still amongst the lowest in the region, yes of countries that do not produce oil.

Now lets compared that too the oil producing nations.

Clearly from the chart above the respective oil producing countries are more interested in the welfare of the citizens and not some  expanding bank account that boast their increase in business from year to year. Its a shame that we are given this kind of treatment and are supposed to “change our live style’s” .

I hope that a certain quarter of the politicians will fight this cause for the people :S

If changes are to be made its gotta be from up to down NOT DOWN TO UP!

RM2.70

The internet is filled with articles that have indicated how un-happy they are with the recent fuel price increase and who could blame them? That means since Abdullah Badawi became an elected Prime Minister in 2004, petrol has gone up by 97.1%, while diesel increased by a whopping 231%

What puzzles me more is the fact that why are the people given a notice period of about 7-8hours to fill up or take the neccesary measures to have their wallets ripped into bits?? I live in the Old klang road area and had to go to klang last night, left home at 730pm and reached Klang at close to 10pm.

Every petrol station was packed with cars spilling out to the roads!! Apparently many petrol stations ran out of fuel and people were angry! Can you blame them?? Its become a bit of a habit of the current government to spring surprises to the people nowadays ha! From the announcement of the elections and now this blow!

I for one am very dissapointed, what are the solutions?

The normal “advice” we’ll hear

1. Change lifestyle
2. Spend wisely
3. The petrol is still cheaper than other countries(are we comparing with oil producing nations?)
4. The government could not be further burden by the subsidy (if a govt doesn’t like burden,maybe we need one which can handle one)

And after all this advice mumbo jumbo this is how our govt spends money

Look at how they spent

1. RM 100 million on renovation of Parliament building and leaks thereafter;
2. National Astronaut Programme – RM 40 million;
3. National Service Training Programme – yearly an estimate of RM 500 million;
4. Eye on Malaysia -RM 30 million and another RM5.7 million of free ticket
5. RM 4.6 billion, ’soft-loan’ to PKFZ
6. RM 2.4 million of indelible ink

Sick to the stomach and apparently this is just the beginning of the process of fully removing the subsidy which we probably be paying about RM4 per litre..

The changes in detail follow
