Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

sdcorp3d4cpos

This in my view is good news!! A Malaysiakini report confirmed that Sime Darby has dropped the plans to take over IJN. Sime citied public opposition of the plan as the reason. Well if that is the reason, Well done to Malaysians, bloggers,Tun Dr M and those who made their opinion felt.

Most of all, im glad that Sime is interested in what the people think and have dropped the plans! Hopefully IJN stays the high quality, world class hospital for all Malaysians!

Will We Ever Learn?

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

The Bukit Antarabangsa landslide is the latest tragedy to hit us here in Malaysia. In a land where we are blessed with no natural disasters,no terorist attacks we unfortunately are left with nothing but pure ignorance that other potential threats. Back on the 11th of December 1993, the condominium fell with occupants still inside unaware of tragedy waiting to strike.

That tragedy toke 48 lives and many injuered and i remember it hapening like it happened last year with the nation gieving for the horrbible sight on tv,radio and the press. Block 1 collapsed when 10 continous days of rainfall led to a landslide after the retaining wall at the Tower’s carpark failed. After that happened, the government and the people were talking about hill side development and how it had to stop. (more…)

Economic Meltdown

Monday, December 1st, 2008

The worlds economy is going to the dogs again. Many countries around the world including the mighty Singapore have declared recession and that its going to get worst next year. I read a report saying that Singapore think that it will take at least 2 years before things gets back to normal again. The good thing about how the Singaporean government is handling it is that its telling the companies to retrain their staff and not to simply lay them off. Thats one of many initiatives taken to put in some damage control into a horrible situation.

Closer to home, the government have re-iterated that our economy is strong and its build on solid foundations and we are not effected by the global meltdown. I personally think that this time around the situation is different from the last slowdown. The variables are different and some serious measure must be taken to ensure that the average Malaysian is not effected too badly!

I read a report at Malaysiakini from a former aide to Tun M. In his blog he dared officials with a reward of RM5000 to prove him wrong but none did.

This is what Matthias said : (more…)

MIC’s 68year old alternative

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

MIC veteran leader M Muthupalaniappan today announced that he would contest for the party presidency next March.

MCPX

“I am receiving overwhelming support and good words from MIC and the Indian community regarding this,” he told Malaysiakini.

Its about time Samy Vellu got someone to contest against him!Its good ti see that someone has finally got the guts to contest for the top post of the party that claims to bail the rights of the Indians in Malaysia.

I really like to see what Uncle Semi has got to say and hopefully he wont be repeating what he said just before the last election for his own good. The weird thing is i dont know if this is just a setup for a candidate to be placed there to contest a no contest or if its genuine(cant blame me for thinking that isnt it??!)

I don’t know much about the former MIC vice[president but i know that he is 68-year-old and thats not going to help the cause in my view if they want a fresh new approach in making the party more relevant to the nation.

What ever it is..It should be a interesting build up towards the MIC elections and it be even better if more come forward in view to challenge the grandpa of MIC for the top seat.

Question – There must be something in the drinks at the MIC office, they all have un-futile heads eh! :)
