Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Malaysians, especially Muslims, must avoid being totally immersed in the internet culture, especially Facebook and Twitter, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

101 East : Who’s Allah

Monday, January 18th, 2010

You have to watch this episode of Al-Jazeera’s 101 East. Aljazeera explores the Allah controversy with a debate featuring Pas MP Khalid Samad, social activist Marina Mahathir and Abim’s Yusri Mohamad.

Malay = Islam? Im not too sure about that statement, i think that Islam as a religion is way more than Malays and those who think that Malay=Islam need to give more respect to every single human being because it sounds like they are stuck in some shell which is keeping em air tight!

My respect for Marina Mahathir and Khalid Samad for their open views and Abim’s Yusri Mohamad.. Needs to think before talking because he looked totally out of sorts!

Religious Rumble

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

With the Allah issue now taking up the  hottest spaces on major dailies, it made me think if half a million would fix it?

Prime Minister Najib announced a government allocation of RM500,000 to rebuild the Metro Tabernacle Church

That followed with more churches getting attacked, a surau getting attacked and there has been constant anticipation what would happen next? Personally i haven’t seen enough being done by the government to move in to swiftly address this problem because like it or not, it is a HUGE PROBLEM. (more…)

Finally i received my Astro b.yond decoder, dish and remote control together with the new byond activated card which will give me the HD service which i have been waiting for. Only after 1 day after my last call i received a call from the Astro Byond team who gave me a call run down on the terms and conditions

The terms : (more…)

Church Attacks

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

It was a sad sad day for all Malaysians with the attacks on churches in the Klang Valley yesterday. All this came from the use  of the word Allah. Who has the rights to use the word? Who has the ultimate power to decide who uses it?

The police who still have not found who stole a jet engine from the arm and missing child Sharlinie apparently have identified suspects in less than 24hours. Hopefully the  issue gets resolved by the involved parties and those who were responsible for the attacks are brought to justice.

Lets Make Em Keep It Clean

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Parties are always fun and a blast but here in Malaysia, post parties are nothing short of a eye sore! I was at Thailand a few years ago and while my friend and me were watching a parade along the main street in Phuket, we saw something that was new to us. The municipal council was cleaning up right behind the procession to ensure that the infamous tourist destination remained clean.

Now back to home (more…)

To Tie or Not to Tie

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

While i was working with a NGO, i went to Digi for a meeting. So here i was dressed nicely in my formal attire and in my tie waiting for the Digi team to come get us, comes in a gentlemen nicely dressed in jeans, a shirt with sleeves rolled up. I was a tad surprised at the dress code but we went ahead with the meeting and i made friends with the gentlemen who i was talking too.

A few days later, i asked him about the dress code in Digi and he told me… (more…)
