Nicol David and Ong Beng Hee made it all Malaysian affair at the Malaysian Squash Open at Berjaya Times Square.Azlan Iskandar and Ong Beng Hee set up an all-Malaysian final with straight games semi-final wins while Nicol ended the run of giant-killer Alison Waters of England 9-6, 9-4, 9-4 in 37 minutes to raise the possibility of a repeat of the home double Azlan and Nicol scored at last year’s Malaysian Open. Superb win for the nation squash players and hope they go on to have a awesome year!

Lee Chong Wei has done it!! The singles ace has bagged the Malaysian open at Bukit Jalil Stadium.he top seeded Chong Wei came through unscathed despite immense pressure to beat South Korean Lee Hyun-il, who is the protege of the Malaysian’s former coach, Li Mao, 21-15, 11-21, 21-17 in a 62-minute final. And after the victory, Li Mao gave him a hug and a pat on the back for his winning performance.
If only our doubles pairs performed slightly better, we be celebrating a double whammy at home soil.Well done Chong Wei and hopefully he has a superb 2008 and eventually clinches the world no 1 spot and makes it his own!!
Tip for Chong Wei - Speak to Nicol, she seems pretty good at becoming world no 1 and staying there ![]()

I was at the quarter finals of the Malaysian Open 2008 at Bukit Jalil Stadium on the 18th of January 2008.It was my first experience at any Badminton super series.Got to the stadium with Valcy at 6.30pm and met up with some other friends, about 9 of us went for this tournament all geared up with our Malaysia flag. The crowd was already there and thank god we got ourselves some premium numbered tickets which secured us some superb seats.

Badminton is apparently the favorite Malaysian Sport(since we have some joy out of it).The clearest thing i can remember was when we won the Thomas Cup Finals when we hosted it. The team was then represented by Foo Kok Keong(the guy with the really short shorts), Rashid Sidek,Kwan Yoke Meng,Razif&Jalani Sidek and Cheah Soon Kit & Soo Beng Kiang.Since the we have consistently become a force nobody cares about
Even the European Nations aren’t too bothered!
