Danny Murphy Pays His Dues

_39491767_murphy300

Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy who use to be the player that destroys Manchester United in the past has done it again, this time wearing a different shirt. Wearing the captain’s armband and dressed in the white of Fulham, Danny Murphy scored from the spot after Paul Scholes made it no secret that he rather play between the post since he isn’t doing the best job in the middle of the field.

Who Should Liverpool Buy?

sale_banner

Its January already!! Clubs in the English Premier League or what they call the Barclays Premier League now start buying new players to bolster the squads to last the “marathon” which ends sometime in May. While there is soo much attentention on the cash rich Manchester City who have been crowned the new Chelsea, im not too bothered where City spends their money on inflated prices from other teams who are desprate to sell to raise money to bolster their own squads.

I will be looking at Liverpool and my thougths on who they should buy or sell during this month long transfer window.

I was looking at a rumour mill report by ESPNSTAR and this is what it said : Continue reading »

Reds Blowing It?

We are close to the busy Christmas period for the English Premier League. Lady luck seems to be shinning bright on the Reds this time around with them sitting pretty right on top of the league even though they have been playing some lousy football in my view.

In recent weeks, the Reds have managed to retain the top spots despite poor draws against Hull,Arsenal and West Ham. There was one win against Blackburn right after the West Ham draw but in my view, its still not good enough to justify being the top team in England. As a Liverpool fan for more than 20 years, its makes me sick to the stomach that the team is set out defensively against even the likes of West Ham and Hull?!

Everyone probably has their ideal line-up but it may not be as straight forward as a generic team against any team. Opponents tactics must be taken into consideration and the best players to perform must be determined before each match. Then there is the problem of injuries and suspensions to live with. In my view considering the current scenario ,my ideal team to start against most teams now would be a straight 4-4-2.

Reina

Arbeloa   Carra    Agger   Insua

Babel Gerarrd Alonso Riera

Kuyt Keane

I think Babel should start games because he has pace to terorize defences together with Riera and with both of them with a shot in them, they can be a threat to any goalkeeper. Up front, i think that Kuyt and Keane should be played together because Kuyt can score a goal and Keane can be a pain to any defence. In defence, since Skrtel and Aurelio are injured, Insua and Agger must be given a extended run in the team and they are players any team would want in theirs.

I hope that the Reds buck up and stop dropping points. If we had won the 3 draws, Liverpool would be easily 7 points ahead of the pack coming into the busy Christmas period. I hope that Rafa stops giving us Red fans constant heart attacks during games and to be honest, Liverpool are not the best team in England right now just the luckiest of the pack!

And who said Keane cant play? Did you see the goal he scored against Arsenal?? Time to give him a extended run in the first team, if he does not deliver..Take him off?! But he deserves his chance at it!!

Liverpool to play Selangor

liverpool-fc-crest

Liverpool FC might be in Malaysia during off season 2009 Asia tour. This would be their first visit to Malaysia if the arrangement materializes. Football Focus Group Ltd, a sports events promotion company based in Hong Kong, showed that the company was keen to bring Liverpool to Malaysia.

BUT there is a slight problem… trouble could brew from the fact that the match can only kick off if Liverpool omit their sponsor’s name (a beer company) from their jersey. The issue with Liverpool and find an amicable solution that would favour both Selangor and Liverpool.Maybe the can add little text on top of Carlsberg that says “Non-alcoholic”.

Ive been a Liverpool supporter for almost 20 years now and it be superb to watch Liverpool play against Selangor! It would be a real test to the Liverpool boys :)
