Open ID
Posted by ar on
August 3, 2008
How many user names and passwords do you have? I personally have got 3 webmail add’s,about 4-5 different online community username/password and many other access indentification for my online presence. How many times have you reached a website and forgotten what the user name or password is and even if you have a option to retrieve it, cant remeber which email address the account is registered with?!
What is Open ID?
OpenID eliminates the need for multiple usernames across different websites, simplifying your online experience.
You get to choose the OpenID Provider that best meets your needs and most importantly that you trust. At the same time, your OpenID can stay with you, no matter which Provider you move to. And best of all, the OpenID technology is not proprietary and is completely free.
Yes, it doesnt sound as tasty if you consider some hacker who magically hacks your detials and effectively has access to all your frequent sites. The problem with having multiple user names and password is the difficulty of coming up with a password that is secure and yet something that you easily remember. Now what if you had a unique username that can be used across the board and that would mean you can come up with a password which is hard to crack or figure out but remember easily because its the only password you need.
Currently there are nearly 10k sites support OpenID, among them Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Digg, LiveJournal, and many more. Check out the OpenID Directory and myOpenID Site Directory for a comprehensive record of supported websites.
how can you get your OpenID? In fact, if you have a GMail address, you already have one through the Google App Engine. Of course, there are several more options, the most obvious one being OpenID.org.
I have done mine via Google App Engine, have you done yours yet?

Google Launches Knol
Posted by

July 24, 2008
Google has launched what it calls its Hybrid Wiki , Knol. This new site allows people to write about their areas of expertise under their bylines.
“”We are deeply convinced that authorship — knowing who wrote what — helps readers trust the content,” said Cedric DuPont, product manager for Knol”
Now whats so nice about knol, Knol has publishing tools similar to single blog pages. But unlike blogs, Knol encourages writers to reduce what they know about a topic to a single page that is not chronologically updated. Sometimes reading a wiki posting is just too long and this way, you can read and understand a topic in a single page.
So, if you are interested to write a knol…This is the time to do it, its a empty glas waiting to be filled

Google Laser Beam Day!
Posted by

May 16, 2008

Noticed the Google logo today?? I was cracking my head on what it and finally i figured it out via a fellow bloggers site.
On this day (May 16), American physicist Theodore Harold Maiman fired the first laser beam at Hughes Research Laboratories.
According to NYT, this first laser shone with the brilliance of a million suns. Its beam spread less in one mile than a flashlight beam spreads when directed across the room.
Google is also celebrating the day with this new logo on their homepage. But were you able to recognize that this is Google logo ? I couldn’t.

Google Page Rank
Posted by

March 6, 2008
Google Page rank is a very important thing according to most bloggers. Its the single one thing that helps determine the strength of your website or how marketable it is. I have not had any page rank for a long time.Everytime i checked it showed me a nice bi ZERO then on one day it mysteriously showed me a 7!! But as i suspected it must have been a mistake because i was brougt back to reality and to my nice warm ZERO.
Past few days it has been sitting on a page rank of 2. Not too bad for a site that has been up for about 6 ish months! Hopefully it goes up if its good for Delirium ![]()

January 13, 2008
Like most of the internet using population I am a user of Google for my searching needs.Came across some tricks that can make life easier and these are some useful tips that you should use too!!
If your from America there are soo many different options available but im sure the rest of the world will catch up sooner rather than later .Do you have any other really useful ones??
Google Images

This one that i use almost everyday and makes it easy to find images of almost everything you need!!Google Image search results show you instead of tell you about a word. Don’t know what jicama looks like? Not sure if the person named “Priti” who you’re emailing with is a woman or a man? Spanish rusty and you forgot what “corazon” is? Pop your term into Google Image Search (or type image jicama into the regular search box) to see what your term’s about.
Want to see some really cool ones?? Read the rest of this entry »
