ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THE PRICE OF FUEL RIGHT NOW??

I always wondered how the price of fuel was calculated before the hike and now and are we paying the price we should be paying? I’m no economist but common sense would tell you [...]

Finally there has been another adjustment to the price of petrol and diesel. Effective midnight today(after 12am) the new price of fuel are :
Petrol RON97: RM2.30 ( -15 sen)
Petrol RON92: M2.20 (-10sen)
Diesel : RM2.20(-20sen)

Crude oil price has dipped below the USD$100 a barrel price. As per today’s morning price it stands at USD$99.57 per barrel. So when the price of fuel went up to about USD$150 a barrel, the government was quick in increasing the price of fuel by 40 odd percent and causing massive traffic jams with their short notice announcement. With the price increase of fuel, the government came up with a new subsidy mechanism that requires those who own a car to claim this rebate via the Post Office. Since this came in place, post offices have been filled to the brim and sometimes waiting for your turn can be pretty long!
