The past is finished, Let the future begin

What difference a year makes, just a year ago we were lead by a certain Roy Hodgson who came out with a Liverpool team that look like they were out to defend their premiership status. Signings like Poulsen, Konchesky , Jovanovic & Cole were brought in and one kept wondering, is this a real Liverpool side or a bad prank someone was playing.

This year, Liverpool started the season under the leadership of the manager that all Liverpool fans have been praying will be given the job, Kenny Dalglish. A massive overhaul has been underway at anfield. For me it was a very brave transfer window. Unless you are the owners of Man City or your name is a Roman Abramovich, money will be looked at with both eyes wide open. Owners will encourage the sale of unwanted players before taking out the cheque books to sign new ones. Liverpool went out early and started signing the players that was required to compete, signing pure quality.

Only at tne tail end of strengthening the squad was when the players started leaving Liverpool, mostly bench warmers and players who were clogging up the cash flow. Inspite of all the transfer activity, would you believe that an astounding £30 million has been wiped from the wage chitty, and a little over £20 million raised in funds.

The team have started the season well, the players who are surplus to requirement have been removed and we have a lean squad that is packed with quality now. Its perfect, a good 4 months to run the show with this squad and a period where the squad will be evaluated while Damien Comolli and his scouting team go identify the best possible signings that can be brought in during the next transfer window.

It is indeed great leap forward of unprecedented proportions

Badawi Defence,Najib Finance

So in a move that is part of the transition, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today gave up his finance portfolio to  Najib Abdul Razak, while he takes over as defence minister. Ok how is this strategic and going to help the nation..Ive got no idea.

I’m not a fan of any Minister holding dual portfolio’s because that effectively dilutes ones capability of doing the job with focus. Pak lah should be focusing on being the PM and Najib should focus on learning how to become the next PM.

Don’t we have experts to take on that portfolio’s or maybe they don’t trust anyone ha!

No clue how this is going to help the nation but.. You wanted Change isnt it? Here you Go!
