Governments & The Environment

I was browsing through environmental events and i stumbled upon the Australia Department OF Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Community. What was cool is that they have documented all the events that take place and support the causes, even those that are driven by NGO’s

Even Earth Hour is on it! Malaysian government, watch and learn!

What Earth Hour Means, To ME

The world goes dark on the 26th of March 2011, a event that has been going on for a few years now to raise awareness about the pressing issue of climate change. This is the 3rd time Malaysia is participating in this global movement and hopefully more and more Malaysians are going to pledge their support to this cause which i consider very important.

There is a huge misconception though about the Earth Hour concept itself, normally from those who dont do anything about the issues but provide their kind commentary. Now what is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour 2011 Malaysia : Live Green

Earth Hour is back! My favourite environmental event which i had the opportunity of working on when it was first launch happens on every last Saturday of March. Its on the 26th of March between 8.30pm-9.30pm , the world will be turning off its lights for one hour in support of our planet!

The campaign this year is calling for everyone to go beyond the 1 hour and to do more for our planet and for our future ultimately. Head on to livegreen.wwf.org.my and while your at it, share it with your friends and family and lets make this the biggest that we have seen so far!

ABOUT Earth Hour Malaysia 2011

Earth Hour Malaysia 2010

Earth Hour 2010 in Malaysia was last night. It was not as hyped as 2009 which was our inaugural participation but that is totally understandable considering this is our 2nd year taking part, the country know about the event and will take part or dont.

Make your rounds on facebook and you see soo many supporting and some skeptics but that is their right. Its ok for those who think its PR stunt to feel that way, if they dont know why Earth Hour happens. For me its a very important event. Its a chance for the entire world to come together for that one hour and turn off our lights for one hour in support of our planet.

Which other event, can turn the lights off the biggest landmarks bring world leaders, make large corporations to say..We Vote Earth? Earth Hour does just that!

Earth Hour 2010

On Earth Hour hundreds of millions of people will come together to call for action on climate change by doing something quite simple—turning off their lights for one hour. The movement symbolizes that by working together, each of us can make a positive impact in this fight, protecting our future and that of future generations.

This year Earth Hour falls on the 27th of March 2010 at 8.30pm. It is led by WWF Internationally and WWF-Malaysia,here at home. In my opinion this is the one of the most important events that will raise the bar and awareness about climate change and how each and everyone has a part to play in the future of our planet.
