Killer Cyclone Hits Myanmar

Almost 4,000 people have died and another 3,000 remain missing in Myanmar as a result of this weekend’s devastating cyclone, state media reported Monday amid fears that the death toll could continue to soar.A state of emergency was declared Sunday across five regions: the city of Yangon, Irrawaddy, Pegu and the states of Karen and Mon.

The extend of the damage and casualties are not known yet and it could take days to actually know the actually extend of the damage.

Benazir Bhutto ASSASSINATED

Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday outside a large gathering of her supporters where a suicide bomber also killed at least 14 others.Police said a suicide bomber fired at Bhutto as she was leaving the rally venue in a park before blowing himself up.

Following the blast, body parts and flesh were strewn across Liaqat Bagh park where Bhutto had spoken. The attack came just hours after four supporters of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif died when members of another political party opened fire on them at a rally near the Islamabad airport Thursday. The planned General Election scheduled to be held on the 8th of January will most likely be postponed.

Kha Man Found Dead

Kha Man, 12, will remain lost. They found her body on a rock in the Kampar river. They also found her bicycle a few km away, in Gopeng town. The cops have classified the case as “sudden death”. Which means they are not sure what happened or are afraid to commit themselves. After Nurin’s case, that is both understandable and pathetic.
