As Seen By MIC

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Its all over the news, BN’s Supreme Council meeting last week, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who is also Umno vice president, was tasked with looking into amending the BN’s constitution to enable direct-membership to individuals and groups who wish to associate with the coalition but do not want to join any of its component parties.

Good move? Not good enough for me but its a good step in the right direction.

Anyway, this move wont be easy to implement and one of its “core party” has already spoken :)

The MIC is expected to resist the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition’s proposal to allow membership for friendly individuals, political parties and non-governmental organisations. This is because the party, which boasts of 630,000 members, will lose its “monopoly” at the Barisan supreme council when it comes to Indian matters if other Indian-based political parties are allowed to join, say political pundits.

Good news for Indians in the country! Soon the “tiger” will be loosing its tooth and if you vote for the rulling coalition. What does this mean?

The MIC will definitely lose its dominance but it will be a boon to the Indian community as the Barisan leadership will be able to hear directly the problems faced by Indians, generally from various parties, rather than just from the MIC alone,” said former MIC vice-president Tan Sri M. Mahalingam.

What do i think about this? (more…)

Power Strugle

n_24kayveas

Since March 8th 2008 our nation has been in one heck-u-va political limbo. There have been by elections after by-elections(some natural and some not) there have been change of leadership, there have been hostile take overs and even challenges within parties.

As a Malaysian its sick to have such a situation. Yes, we are lucky that we are in a country that does not have war and riots but that does not mean we should be using that as a excuse. Politicians come in many different shapes, sizes and motives.

Some are genuine, some have interest and some are pure rubbish. Whats funny is when the politicians come out and say the dumbest things with a straight face and when they get criticized for it, they get offended! :) I was at a bookshop over the weekend and stumbled upon a book called “Malaysian politicians say the darnest things“. Not surprisingly there was a certain “semi value” who featured very frequently and it makes me wonder if we have been blind, deaf or pure ignorant all these years!

This whole political limbo must end! Its becoming soo sickening that Malaysians who had some hope are loosing that now and its time that they got to work and stop politicking! Have you seen the latest political strugle in PPP? The BN component party is having a power struggle to decide who is the leader of the party.

They suspend the contender, then the contender becomes the party leader then the incumbent leader tells him to go form his own party! ….Its a JOKE!

Its sickening simply reading the papers everyday. The kind of reports of how you said this and i do that is making the papers look like some sorta comic strip!

Sivakumar being dragged out of the House - Sinar Harian

It was a much anticipated day at the Perak State Assembly. The speaker was dragged off his seat and a new one was installed. Many arrested which includes law makers, its makes you wonder if democracy really exist? I used to watch video’s of the Taiwanese House and how they behave thinking at least we are not that bad but i guess i spoke to soon! (more…)

Question : Who is the new Botak?

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

rais-yatim

Since the new cabinet was announced, i was looking at the lineup and wondering who the new Botak was going to be? Now if you are wondering who is botak? It was the member of the previous cabinet who came out and said not very intelligent things again and again. So i had a rough idea on who that may be but i saw a report today that confirmed that!

Read this report

Lets dissect that report :

The new minister has urged private television (TV) and radio stations to change by putting national interest above commercial value

This is like the MAS and SIA situation, SIA was formed to make money and provide superior service and MAS is the national airline. Explains …. Its a private company for a reason, its very existence is to make money not to sing and act political songs for a certain party. But there is already 2 channels for that purpose, unless…This its been soo poorly managed that its not even serving the interest of “nationa interest” ?

Private TV and radio stations soon to bring about changes as they had failed to deliver the government’s aspirations resulting in Barisan Nasional’s (BN) poor performance at the general election last year

I think there is a distinct difference between national interest and a political agenda. If the stations have got to spread the messages to promote Malaysia and Malaysians to be one and united, im all for it but political interest??!

People will not blame the private TV and radio stations if they had complied with the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998.

Who is blaming the private station? The people or you?

From the tone that im getting, it sounds like one should not bother watching or listening to the stations that belong to the government because it seems that it will have more content which is set out for a political interest. The previous cabinet minister and the team gave some promise but looks like stone age is the new direction!

I somehow think that the this is only the beginning and watch the new minister, there will be more weird statements that will be coming out of this camp! :)

Change is the buzz word for the year. While Malaysia is gearing up for 3 by-elections, the candidate that caught the attention for me is PKR’s nomination of ordinary party member S Manikumar. He is a local boy from the town and is a tourism management degree and an MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia. (more…)

The Perak Fiasco

Friday, February 6th, 2009

The Perak state government has crumbled! This has been confirmed today after the announcement of the King and its effectively a BN ruled state. Below are a series of video’s from the now former MB and the new Perak UMNO chief announcing that BN have now taken over the state of Perak.

I was speaking to many people today and the general consensus is that the people are not happy with the way things have unfolded. This is the height of a hostile take over!

What difference a leader makes eh! Image the change that can happen when we have a new leader! Malaysians, brace your self for “change

Priorities

The world faces on of the worst financial crisis its ever seened. Super powers of the world have rung the alarm bells to take precautions in anticipation of a crisis that could have a huge impact on the worlds economy and its ocupants. Singapore has declared recession but the government of Malaysia seems oblivious to this ugly wave that is hitting the world.

In a strage scenario, after a month and a half break at the parliament the law makers made their way back to the parliament to get straight into business. The weird thing was none of the ministers, deputy ministers were there! The opposition were calling for a review of the budget which was tabled before the Ramadhan break to be reviewed as it became obsolete since the current world economic situation. In all honesty we definitely need a new or improved budget to ensure we are not hit that hard by this crisis.

The pakatan MP’s were basically having a concersation between themselves and the speaker while the backbenchers club were mere spectators. Im shocked at this news!! Seriously, are the government serious about the rakyat or are they just too confident of their abilities??

The Pakatan law makers were not interested in politickling but to join forces with the government to come up with the best ossible solution in handling this crisis which the world is facing??

Is the UMNO elections more important than the economy and the well being of the rakyat? Please stop messing with our future and get back to work! You folks earn a healthy sallary and the rakyat have trusted you with leading the nation but we do not have room for arrogance, ignorance and ego!!

Watch the parliamentary sessions which was pretty much a sneak peak of what a new governemnt might look like(minus the seating arrangement)

Getting Impatient Aren’t We?

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Sept 16 was a date that most Malaysians were waiting eagerly for. Then there was the Sept 23rd which was the date that was set by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the PM to call for the emergency parliamentary hearing. That didn’t happen. So what next?

I tell you what happen since then.. Malaysians have become impatient and started suspecting if the Pakatan politicians have the numbers to start with? Sceptics came out their guns blazing and from the BN leaders, supporters,to even some Pakatan supporters.

Fair enough..patients is not exactly a virtue many people have and you cant blame them considering the current political climate and economically situation of the nation.

Below are a series of questions that you need to answer very honestly and this should help put things in perspective in my view. (more…)

Takut LAH

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

The Pakatan rakyat leadership has sent a letter to the Pak Lah requesting for a meeting and he rejected that. Then the Pakatan leadership called for a emergency parliamentary hearing..that too was rejected and BN and UMNO think that DSAI and the Pakatan leadership have nothing and are just buying time.

My question.

WOULDN’T IT BE EASIER TO MEET ANWAR AND THE PAKATAN LEADERSHIP AND CLARIFY THIS ISSUE??? (more…)

A MSN Status

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

While i was doing my rounds on the Internet yesterday i logged onto MSN to see if my IT guru was online. One of my favourite things to do while checking out friends on msn is their status. You get all kinda stuff that tells you what they are thinking or experiencing in their lives. Some asking questions, some expressing stress and some feeling all romantic.

Some of the status i saw

  • who is the apple of your eye?
  • cumulative trauma disorder (CTD)
  • Love is not a matter of counting the years..But making the years count..by Michelle St. Amand

And this next one grabbed my attention :

  • if the so-called new govt consists of the same ppl, what change can it bring?? (more…)
