My What If’s

Well…2009 is a mere 4 weeks away and normally December is considered by many as the festive month where we subconsciously tell ourselves that its the holiday month so we earned the right to take it easy in the final corner of the whole year and give excuses that businesses are closed, everyone is on holiday and basically take a chill pill as the year’s curtains slowly close.

On the other hand this is also the part of the year when we look back at the infamous resolutions that we set out to achieve for the year. How we want to set the record straight for the mess up’s we have made and how we want to achieve new goals(which are the same old goals we set out for the last 2-3years,depending how old you are of course)

Anyway… 2008 was a half decent year for me, i don’t think i met any of the high standards i set my self(at least they are high standards for me). So if you are wondering what kind of goals i set my self, here are some. [Read more...]

Pak Lah To Retire In March

So the cat is out of the bag, PM Badawi has announced to not to defend his Umno president’s post and will quit in March next year when the ruling party meets for its annual general assembly. The current PM is set to be he PM who held the premiership for the shortest time frame ever clocking 5years and 5months in office, 1month shorter than Hussein Onn who had to resign due to health reasons.

Now the transition plan to his deputy is underway with Najib set to become the next Prime Minister of the country. That is provided Najib bags the UMNO top post un-contested.Interesting that the PM still wants to hold on to office for 5 months for the “transition plan” to take effect and the transition is smooth.

So is Najib what Malaysia wants?

Najib Hints on Goodies for ALL

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the government would announce a ‘pleasant surprise’ for Malaysians when the 2009 Budget is tabled on Aug 29. With the upcoming budget due on a few days after the Permatang Pauh by-elections.

This only can be good news for Malaysians but i would think that the government has got much much more to do if they want too secure the trust of the rakyat again. Ad-hoc goodies are not what we are interested in.

Everyone was complaining when the fuel price went up, then when the subsidy was announced..Some kept quiet. Collecting cold hard RM625 from the post office would have been a good experience despite the long que but really…What is RM625???

With the increase in fuel that wouldnt be enough to fuel your cars for 2 months of free petrol and paying RM2.70 a litre for the rest of the year? Only a un-realistic person would think that its a good deal. We still have not seen the transportation system being improved, we have not seen the price of food reduced.

I tell you what ive been seeing, have a look at the sidebar on this website….The price of fuel dropping every single day!!

Goodies are good but we are interested in the LONG TERM well being of every single citizen of Malaysia not the CHOOSEN FEW!
