This is a good development to inform your LinkedIn contacts of developments on your blog. Its important that the postings are relevant to what your professional networks see’s as you don’t want to them to see details of your naughty weekend or some online whining 
Having said that you can filter what goes on LinkedIn with a LinkedIn tag and it be great if you use gravatar to put a face to your post.
