Who Should Liverpool Buy?

Its January already!! Clubs in the English Premier League or what they call the Barclays Premier League now start buying new players to bolster the squads to last the “marathon” which ends sometime in May. While there is soo much attentention on the cash rich Manchester City who have been crowned the new Chelsea, im not too bothered where City spends their money on inflated prices from other teams who are desprate to sell to raise money to bolster their own squads.

I will be looking at Liverpool and my thougths on who they should buy or sell during this month long transfer window.

I was looking at a rumour mill report by ESPNSTAR and this is what it said :

LIVERPOOL

Rafael Benitez is still searching for a solution to his right wing problem while his lack of options in both full-back positions needs to be addressed. A striker to support Robbie Keane and Fernando Torres (when fit) would also be welcomed.

Linked with: Emile Heskey (Wigan), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham)

To start with i pray hard that they do not buy Emile Heskey!! The problem is a goal scoring striker if Torres is injured and we all know that Heskey is not a free scoring striker!!I dont think Liverpool needs to buy another striker with Keane,Kuyt,Torres,Nabil and even Babel who can play in that role!

I have been a fan of Glen Johnson for a while now and i think he would be a superb signing for Liverpool. We lack English players and under Rafa, im confident that Glen Johnson can mature into a better right back for both Liverpool and England. PLEASE BUY GLEN JOHNSON!

The other player linked is a solution to the right wing position. We have solved the left wing position with the signing of Albert Riera and he has done well. Aaron Lenon is a superb solution for the right wing position. I think he will fit nicely into the team however i doubt we will get him because of the club he belongs too, Spurs who has a new manager who will be interested to hold on to his best players and they are not really desprate for the cash! But he be a good player to buy.

Liverpool should not waste the resources on areas which we have cover in potential youth players waiting to break into the first team. Insua is a great example who has done very well since breaking into the team to cover for Aurelio. Its a important window and i hope that Liverpool buys well to continue the form they have started the season to be amongst the challengers for the tittle.
