Deepavali is the festival of lights which indicates the victory of good over evil. Most Malaysians had celebrations for this auspicious occasion however it was not all joy and fun. There is a group of people who were out there fighting for the rights and were sent to Kamunting via the ISA to detention without trial.
The Hindraf 5 were behind bars and were not given a opportunity to celebrate the joyous festivals. Can anyone say that Hindraf did not have a impact on March 8th? Are we slowly forgetting the sacrifice of the 5?
