The parliament resumes today after almost a month and a half break. There has been so much talk about when Pakatan will take over and the new leadership which is iminent with the Barisan Nasional government. If you listen to some of the speeches by the Barisan leaders, its almost certain that Najib will be the PM and Muhyiddin will be the DPM. Some must have forgotten that there is a whole electoral process that has got to be undertaken before the decision is given.
The word of the day is MANDATE
With the talk about Pakatan taking over the government i am in favor of a fresh elections for the rakyat to decide if they truly want Pakatan to take over as the government hence giving Pakatan the mandate to rule the nation.
In a report i read today,the PKR Penang chief said :
It was vital for Pakatan to conduct an electoral process to secure the people’s mandate to have the moral rights to govern even though technically the three-party coalition pact need not do so.
I’m glad to see that the Pakatan is singing the tune i was hoping they would be singing. Having said that, i hope that the election commission and the judicial system will get a full overhaul to be transparent and be as effective as it should be.The people must not have fear, they should be able to vote freely for who they think is best to lead this nation. If the people vote for the most effective people then naturally we will have a parliament of effective leaders that can lead the nation.
Those of you who have been worried and started loosing faith, hang in there…Its not like buying a new car or changing tires of a car its a future of the nation that is in the line here!
This rounds of parliament sessions could be a clear indication if the change is around the corner or Pakatan need to run a few more laps before reaching the finishing line.
