Racism has been rampant recently and the latest was from the Bukit Bendera Umno division head Datuk Ahmad spontaneously told a crowd in a ceramah that :
“Chinese community were mere “immigrants” in the country and thus were not entitled to be given equal rights in Malaysia”
He since has come under heavy critism from parties from inside Barisan Nasional and DAP. After many police reports the UMNO Deputy and Deputy Prime Minister came out and apologized on behalf of the party.
“We apologise, Umno apologises although it is not our statement but it is a statement made by one of our division leaders. It is totally unwarranted and does not reflect the position and the attitude of Umno or the leadership of Umno. We regret it very much,”
Its funny how if something that is not in favour of the party is said it becomes one’s personal stand and when its in favour its a whole different tune. How can it be a personal view when he was speaking at a ceramah under the UMNO flag??
To date no punishment has been taken against the Bukit Bendera man who is not been heard from since.
Dissapointing coming from a member of the rulling coalition who’s party has been rulling the nation since independence 51 years ago. What are your thoughts??
