Bloggers are on a campaign against the take over of IJN by Sime Darby or any other company for that matter. This is a issue that has been highlighted on mainstream media and on the bloggersphere for a while now. While i was growing up, my grandfather had a heart condition. He served almost his whole working life in KTM and hence he went for his regular check-up’s in GHKL.
As a young boy i didn’t know much but i remember following him for his check-up’s. The situation at GHKL was poor at that time and i remember clearly him telling me about IJN and how it was world class and it was something Malaysians can be proud off. Doctors at IJN were considered the cream of the crop and even at later stages, many friends of mine who belong to the medical profession echoed the same sentiments.
Our previous prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir had a few surgeries there as well. In the day where even ministers who are law makers send their kids to private or international school and not national schools, We had a prime minister who put his life in the hands in our own hospitals speaks volumes in my view.
When i heard of the take over i was a little dissapointed! I was thought by many that when something is working well, dont mess with it! Maybe you can make fine changes to improve but something like a take-over is no small change. I hope that the government maintains IJN the way it is! Why the need of a private company to take ownership of something as good as IJN?
If i were a private company and given a opportunity to take over a cash cow like IJN, it would be nothing less than stupid not to monetize it!
As a blogger i feel that its important to save IJN from any take over! Please leave IJN alone!
