He has been the MIC top man for more than 30 years! Thats as long as i have been alive! Amazing if you ask me for someone to be in power for such a long time. One would think that to move forward, you need fresh ideas and fresh direction to be relevant. Say what you want but old habits die hard and sometimes still linger in there and influence decisions in the long run.

MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu will stay a year-and-half at the most, as he wants time to “train” his deputy, who will be elected in September
Its going to be scary if the MIC dictator will groom the successor by instilling the qualities that made MIC the party it is today!
My take :
If you have cancer, it will never never get you to perfect health unless its removed from the roots. And when you have a “root” still in the system and its showered with water,wisdom,qualities from the cancer cell.. Do you honestly think its going to improve? I dont at least!
If the party want to be relevant and be a channel of progress, it needs fresh and brand spanking new ideas and implementation to work! But of course you must give them the benefit of the doubt and watch the show as it unveils it self. It never mattered to me so if it doesnt change, it doesnt make any difference to me at least so time will tell
