People’s Power?

After the previous election, it was clear that the people’s voice was being finally heard. Not because BN lost states and a significant majority but because there were signs that people want something and the polls were reflecting that very sentiment. Then there was some drama with the PM and his decision to step down and the succesor being decided etc…

Then the hostile take over of Perak happened! It was very tragic in the way the govt was thrown out and a new govt was formed without the mandate from the people. As a nuetral, one would think that if the govt didnt have the mojority a election would be called to let the people decide on who should govern them.

Simple logic, there always will be bad apples in any basket.. It can be a dark blue, dark blue or event a white basket. But how should we deal with these bad apples? Remove them and let the people decide who should replace them maybe?

Anyway..It was truly sad in the way things have unfolded isnt it? Not because Pakatan lost power but how the people were undermind! I spoke to many friends who voted in that state and the sentiments is clear, most are dissapointed.

Below is some polls that have been done since :

A survey of registered voters in Perak on Feb 8 showed that:

74 per cent of the respondents feel that the state assembly should have been dissolved after the defection of the three Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers

76 per cent of the respondents felt that the “people, through elections, should decide on who forms the government”

62 per cent of the respondents felt that the “role of the palace in this decision” means it does not recognise the will of the people

66 per cent of the respondents do not accept state governments formed through the defection of state assemblymen

59 per cent of the respondents feel that the political crisis in Perak would decrease support for Barisan Nasional.

Taken together, the poll by the Merdeka Centre suggests that Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and the BN may occupy the seat of government but a significant number of Perakians may not accept their legitimacy to hold power.

So who decides who rules? Do we need to vote if this is how things are done?

You tell me….

    Dato AB’,
The solution is simple: Coup d’ etat by the people!

Our BN precisely know that Malaysians are afraid and a weak bunch of people. It’s not surprising because that’s how we have been ruled and for the past 51 years we have been brain-washed to obey the ‘neo-colonial’ rule. We might protest a little – through election, writing and discussion – but with a strong counter-attack through fear mongering and through the classical trick of carrot-and-stick (money and death), Malaysian will bend to the whip of their neo-colonial master – BN/UMNO.

The next step of revolution should be on the world stage. Collect evidence from the street – video, interviews and etc -and send them to world’s renowned organization and publishing house. Press them for action. The chairman of HINDRAF is already doing this. One person will not succeed. The power is within the mass population – Makkal Sakthi!

Time has come to heighten our fight!

I agree with you! To me it doesnt matter who rules but it has got to be a fair govt who’s priority is Malaysia. Bloggers, activist every Malaysian must not give up! these changes takes time BUT having said that the time is NOW! It has got to be continuous pressure!

We must be watchdogs to everybody! Including blogers and activist, some may have diff agenda’s. Speak the truth and keep your priorities in check!

my 2cents and im never giving up!
