Michael Schumacher Joins Mercedes GP Petronas

After much media speculations about who will occupy the vacant drivers seat at the Mercedes GP Petronas team, Micheal Schumacher has taken up the offer and joined the team that gave him his racing initiation. Schumi got his racing apprenticeship as part of the Junior Programme in 1990 with Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

Schumi has seven Drivers‟ World Championships, 248 Grand Prix starts, 91 victories, 154 podium finishes and 68 pole positions, the 40-year old German needs no introduction following an illustrious and record-breaking Formula One career from 1991 to 2006 at the Jordan, Benetton and Ferrari teams.

He will be reuniting with Ross Brawn who he won all his seven tittles with and will be partnering Nico Rossberg in the former Brawn GP team which has been bought by Mercedes.

Im looking forward to the new season with Schumi making his come back into competitive racing with the team that is defending their championship, only with a new owner and brand name. I cant wait to see where Ferrari fans alliance will be next season considering Schumi is responsible for much of the glory that the Italian team has enjoyed.
