Malaysian Football – 1 Up For Glam ONLY

4_1

While the Malaysian national team seems to be suffering on the pitch to win tournaments they have definately are doing well in the glamour department. Have you seen some of the ad’s on the billboards/prints and video’s? I think that the Nike sponsorship switch from adidas has given it a new dimention but i hope that translates to improved performances on the field.

The concept of this campaign is what it should be like to wear the national colours. The ad’s shows how the national pride is beyond just on a badge but somehow it looks like “all fart and no shit” to me since they have failed to deliver the goods on the field.

The recent Suzuki cup was a good example of what we have to live with. I think the national team owes us one and its about time they deliver the goods on the field. The nations number one game is still football and if we are represented by a bunch of pretentious donkeys on the field, its hard for the stadiums to fill up.

PS- For the kind of performances that the team has been delivering they deserve to be sponsored by Pagoda or something! The national silambam team are worthy of a Nike sponsorship deal, not the football team.

Having said that, hopefully there are some improved performances and they swiftly climb of the FIFA world rankings in 2009!

Check out some of the ad’s that are in the media now below!
