Living in Fear

Yesterday i went to get my car serviced and i met this guy who was from Singapore who was also servicing his car. We started off with us talking about our cars and if i felt it was good and he was constantly whining about the horrible quality of his Toyota Altis was. Then slowly the topic changed too life in Singapore v life in Malaysia.
He had soo much complains about the quality of life and how expensive it is nowadays. The it slowly changed towards politics and he was very reserved with his opinion in how things are. It was pretty obvious he was scared to say anything. All he said was..unless you want to die, better vote for the “Lee family” ,the opposition was there to fill the numbers and every time someone who has a remote chance of making any difference he becomes bankrupt and totally wiped off the radar. Its nice to have these kind of conversations from a a everyday normal citizen cause you hear things that you normally talk about everyday. He told me a story about this lady who fell sick and got her self admitted into this hospital after a week of “health care” she was slapped with a $ 20,000 bill and because she didn’t have the money, the hospital is now going to sue her.His exact words were
” In Singapore its ok to die but DONT FALL SICK”
Looks like we have a lot in common eh! His words were…Best thing to do is just keep quiet and take care of your selves because if you want to make a change or try to do anything you suffer!
After he said bye and left i was thinking about the whole conversation and i guess its the same anywhere you go .Conditions are not going to be perfect but you shouldn’t be comparing or using the bad stuff/negative drama as a example/benchmark at all!
As much as you want to make a difference the most we citizens can do is vote the people who we think can take care of your/nations interest at its best. Then the next thing you can do is make the best out of your level.Family, friends, job and your own standard of living. I know how is getting my vote come the next election and its definitely someone who has not got a chance at the game, its pretty obvious the once who have the ability to make these changes are not purely dedicated to the cause. Do your part if you are bothered about the bigger picture and when you do vote, think of who you want to vote for not what people tell you too.
