Parties are always fun and a blast but here in Malaysia, post parties are nothing short of a eye sore! I was at Thailand a few years ago and while my friend and me were watching a parade along the main street in Phuket, we saw something that was new to us. The municipal council was cleaning up right behind the procession to ensure that the infamous tourist destination remained clean.
Now back to home
Going into a brand new year, i think as a nation its about time the government toke matters into another level by learning from our dear neighbours. Found this on what happened in Singapore from post New Years Eve celebration
In an islandwide enforcement effort on New Year’s Eve on Thursday night, environment officers issued 116 tickets for littering and another nine for illegal hawking.
How about that! I think what ever the situation is, we should do just that! Have enforcement officers belting out fines for liter bugs who think that the roads are rubbish bins! But i think it doesn’t end there, the municipal councils should also do their part by providing more rubbish bins and to take it a step further, the 3 bins system to encourage trash separation at street level as well!
Time for us to grow up!! Its not enough to strive to be a developed nation when we still have a 3rd world nation mentality.
