Just back from South Thailand. Prices there seem exactly the same for the past 4+ years despite their higher costs of fuel. Now over RM4 a litre.

Malaysians need to understand that some people vote BN and support the government because it pays... the inflation is benefititing individuals while most suffer. Of course if you get to make more money you will love BN - but for most - the inflation is a killer.

The BN is creating and maintaining an environment that only suits themselves and their cronies.

"two face" you said "May you care to elaborate on countries that are doing well now, regardless the G7 or developing nations" -

Yes there are some counties which are doing well or at least are suffering less in the financial climate.

Thailand as I just mentioned is a political mess and in the south a semi-war-zone and prices there have not budged an inch.

Apart from the Thai petrol prices it's still a much better option to take your RM and spend it in Thailand to get the best value out of it.

Thailand, unlike Malaysia can get through tougher times with ease - this is simply because it has far more diverse and developed industries than Malaysia which relies on 50% of its budget from oil alone.

Thailand has far better tourism and seafood industires for example - both of which will support the Thai economy no matter what happens with oil.

Malaysia is just another middle eastern country - but located in the wrong place. Just like analysts know and have known for a long time that the middle east economies will die with the run out of oil - the same will happen to Malaysia without investing perhaps 10 times the current amount in alternative industries.
