India Launches Space Mission

India blasted into the international space race Wednesday with the successful launch of an ambitious two-year mission to study the moon’s landscape. The unmanned lunar orbiter Chandrayaan-1, or “moon craft” in ancient Sanskrit, launched at 6:20 a.m. (8:50 p.m. ET) from the Sriharikota space center in southern India.

Now this is what you call a real space mission with the country gaining to benefit as a field that has been dominated by the American’s and Russians. This is in massive contrast as compared to our Angkasawan who went on a expensive holiday on the Russian Soyuz in the expense of our tax money.

What was the outcome of our space episode? The tourist got a Datukship and is a lot of fame. We have yet to see the returns of that investment or any progress from our “space agency”.

Congratulations to the Indians for the successful launch and im sure with the brilliant minds their country has it would be a resounding success and there will be huge learning’s that they will take out of it which hopefully benefits the country.
