Earth Hour 2010 in Malaysia was last night. It was not as hyped as 2009 which was our inaugural participation but that is totally understandable considering this is our 2nd year taking part, the country know about the event and will take part or dont.
Make your rounds on facebook and you see soo many supporting and some skeptics but that is their right. Its ok for those who think its PR stunt to feel that way, if they dont know why Earth Hour happens. For me its a very important event. Its a chance for the entire world to come together for that one hour and turn off our lights for one hour in support of our planet.
Which other event, can turn the lights off the biggest landmarks bring world leaders, make large corporations to say..We Vote Earth? Earth Hour does just that!

Did you know that KL Tower, KLCC and most major buildings in our dear country did this out off their own will? It was not because WWF said so or anything of that sort. To me its brilliant! The big boys are keen to make a difference and so should we! Well if they few didn’t take part , so what? Im sure they will the next time around!
Im proud to be Malaysian today, because this simple event showed that everyone does care! Its a start, its a really good start! Now all we need is more! We need real action we need more education, i think that Earth Hour is a blessing.
Yes one hour of energy saved is not going to make any difference but visually, it turns heads.. It lights up the lights in our heads that we can make a difference.
Congratulations WWF for bringing Earth Hour to Malaysia, Congratulations Malaysia, congratulations everyone which ever part of the world you are and hopefully next year we make it even bigger, and educate more people.
Alone it be hard but TOGETHER we can rock the world!
