Do you have a “Kampung”?

I was born and bred in KL.If you were brought up in KL like me you would know that during Chinese New Year and Hari Raya the town goes quiet, so quiet you can play football on the streets but the last few years that hasn’t been the case.City centre is still busy and it looks like more people are making their way into the city or people are just staying in town for the festivals.

What ever happened to the “balik kampung” trend? I never had a kampung that i could go back too. Kampung basically means village and “balik” is going back(in Malay).I think if you had a kampung, your truly gifted!! Nothing like going back to the a kampung where there is a quieter setting, visiting the older folks and it could be pure relaxing and refreshing.

The main cities are getting extremely congested and maybe its time for developments to hit the smaller towns. Only then the masses will spread out to the smaller towns and  eventually it the population is evenly spread out and so is the development. Looks like trends are totally changing eh! do you have a kampung of your own? What are your thoughts?
