Atomic Time

atomic-clock-01

What time is the most accurate time in the world? We live in different time zones but within timezones, there are various different timings that are followed. Some 5minutes more, some 5minutes earlier and some totally off but what is the most accurate time?

I looked it up and apparently the most accurate time is called International Atomic Time :

International Atomic Time (TAI, from the French name Temps Atomique International) is a high-precision atomic coordinate time standard based on the notional passage of proper time on Earth‘s geoid. It is the principal realisation of Terrestrial Time, and the basis for Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) which is used for civil timekeeping all over the Earth’s surface. As of 2009, TAI was exactly 34 seconds ahead of UTC: an initial difference of 10 seconds at the start of 1972, plus 24 leap seconds in UTC since 1972 (the last leap second being added on December 31, 2008)

You can download the Atomic Clock Sync which will give your pc the most accurate time in the world and at least you have a benchmark of what the real time is before setting it faster or slower :)

    Dato AB’,
My reading elsewhere has brought me to believe that the most accurate time/calender is from the Mayans.
