Picture of the Day

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Bailout is the buzz word now with the govts looking to bailout the banks in order to keep some stability and to ensure that the banks dont kill off too many people. Is this the right thing to do? Maybe it is but what about those who run the banks and are responsible for the situation we are in today?? What happens to them?

Terror

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Gunmen who arrived by boats launched attacks on at least seven locations in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday night, killing more than 120 people. This is the biggest attacks this year and its not something the world should condone!

I’m personally very sad that this is happening in the day where the world is demanding change! I hope those who have the power too handle this do the right things in the continuous fighting terrorism.Imagine if something similar happened here?! :S

Pray for those in Mumbai!

Yasmin Ahmad is my favorite local movie producer! She comes up with brilliant movies and tv ad’s that makes you proud to be Malaysian. I saw this one other ad that was for Bhrati Airtel, a leading Indian telco company. Similar type and its inspiring! :)

Now i wanna see more of these! :) If only the we all we in it together as Malaysians and not as Malays,Chinese & Indians…Imagine what we can achieve??

Here’s another brilliant one :

All we need to do is talk! Love it :)

Pathetic 2254 Signatures Only??

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Sometime ago i did a posting asking for everyone to sign the petition calling for Better Law for Wildlife in Malaysia. It is a 35-year-old law which is outdated and needs to be revised to improve the law for wildlife in Malaysia. I was curious on how many people actually signed it and i was extremely disappointed with the pathetic 2254 signatures!

Imagine that! When RPK was arrested and there was a petition calling for the release there as the 10′s of the thousands who came out to support it! So we don’t care about what happens to the wildlife in Malaysia?

Let me give you a sneak peak of what could happen if the laws are not rectified to current times. Remember our infamous Rantau Abang? It was the pride of Malaysia at one point with the 10′s of the thousands leather back turtles coming to land there, today we hardly see any more!? What happened to Rantau Abang as a tourist destination? The town has become nothing more than a cowboy town with businesses going bust and nobody visiting the town anymore!

Well..as for the leatherback turtles, they are un-officially extinct in Malaysia at least(i hope they is some population in other parts of the world). Another exapmle is the Malayan tiger! Its the very animal on our Coat of arms but do are the Malayan tigers being taken care of proper?? From what i understand we have less than 500 left in the wild(Malaysia). We used to have far more than that before!

The NGO’s are actively trying to fix this problems and keep these species from going extinct but if the law does not promote that its pretty pointless!!

Please go sign the petition, nobody is asking you to go to the forest to do the work but at least support those who are trying to do something about it! Think about the bigger picture, its more than animals that are getting saved if good laws are passed, its forest, air, water and much much more which are crucial to our survival!

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME!
