Picture of the Day

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

Bailout is the buzz word now with the govts looking to bailout the banks in order to keep some stability and to ensure that the banks dont kill off too many people. Is this the right thing to do? Maybe it is but what about those who run the banks and are responsible for the situation we are in today?? What happens to them?

Terror

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Gunmen who arrived by boats launched attacks on at least seven locations in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday night, killing more than 120 people. This is the biggest attacks this year and its not something the world should condone!

I’m personally very sad that this is happening in the day where the world is demanding change! I hope those who have the power too handle this do the right things in the continuous fighting terrorism.Imagine if something similar happened here?! :S

Pray for those in Mumbai!

Here’s another brilliant one :

All we need to do is talk! Love it :)

Pathetic 2254 Signatures Only??

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Sometime ago i did a posting asking for everyone to sign the petition calling for Better Law for Wildlife in Malaysia. It is a 35-year-old law which is outdated and needs to be revised to improve the law for wildlife in Malaysia. I was curious on how many people actually signed it and i was extremely disappointed with the pathetic 2254 signatures!

Imagine that! When RPK was arrested and there was a petition calling for the release there as the 10’s of the thousands who came out to support it! So we don’t care about what happens to the wildlife in Malaysia?

Let me give you a sneak peak of what could happen if the laws are not rectified to current times. Remember our infamous Rantau Abang? It was the pride of Malaysia at one point with the 10’s of the thousands leather back turtles coming to land there, today we hardly see any more!? What happened to Rantau Abang as a tourist destination? The town has become nothing more than a cowboy town with businesses going bust and nobody visiting the town anymore!

Well..as for the leatherback turtles, they are un-officially extinct in Malaysia at least(i hope they is some population in other parts of the world). Another exapmle is the Malayan tiger! Its the very animal on our Coat of arms but do are the Malayan tigers being taken care of proper?? From what i understand we have less than 500 left in the wild(Malaysia). We used to have far more than that before!

The NGO’s are actively trying to fix this problems and keep these species from going extinct but if the law does not promote that its pretty pointless!!

Please go sign the petition, nobody is asking you to go to the forest to do the work but at least support those who are trying to do something about it! Think about the bigger picture, its more than animals that are getting saved if good laws are passed, its forest, air, water and much much more which are crucial to our survival!

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION AND PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME!

Fly on TV

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Which radio station do you listen too?? In the modern day loyalty is hard to hard to come by as the service providers constantly have to step up in order to keep the consumers keep coming back more and more. As far as radio is concerned the quality of the shows keep the listeners keep coming back for more and more.

I remember some of the radio shows that i have been hooked on for a certain time frame before switching to another show which was more stimulating for me!! Some of the stations i used to listen too before they either fizzled out or closed down.

There was RTM’s 100.1FM which was great till they re branded to Traxx FM, WoW Fm which was brilliant till they closed down, then there was Hitz.FM which was great and now it feels a little monotonous and now I’m hooked on Fly Fm which i feel is real! These are purely my views and it really is personal preference as my cuppa might not be exactly yours :)

Anyway.. If your not aware yet, the folks at Media Prima who run Fly FM & Hot FM(Malay station) have taken a  new dimension to radio by putting radio on tv! I think its brilliant! If you tune into NTV7 in the mornings you can watch the Fly Pagi show crew live on tv or Hot which appears on 8tv!

Its pretty interesting to watch them live on tv because you dont get to see what you hear under normal circumstances. Its nice to watch how they react, how they joke, when they are serious and if you have been to Sri Pentas where these radio’s are broadcasted from, the studio’s have a transparent glass which is like a fish bowl where the announcers are sitting in to watch them in the flesh!

I hope the other stations or even Fly & Hot keep coming up new ways to re-invent the way we listen to a radio show to keep us listeners coming back for more and more! and please try to be a bit more creative and not copy what stations do around the world because with the Internet, its not all that hard to be found out :)

Its a superb innovation by Fly & Hot!

Which is your favourite radio station?

A Different Angle

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Remember the November 9th candle light vigil that turned ugly? This is another perspective of how the cops went in to arrest the public,mp’s,priest and even women. Watch how they were throwing them into the trucks like they were sacks.

If i didnt know that they were cops, they looks like thugs!

RM499 to Fly To London!

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Black Cab from the city to Stansted Airport, which costs about £110 (RM610) one way. Flying from the LCCT to London will now only cost RM499 via AirAsia X! Fares start from as low as £99 (RM499) for economy seats and £549 (RM1,999) for XL seats – inclusive of airport taxes and charges.

How cool is that!

The best part is,if AirAsia X can acheive 2 to 3 flights a day the rate can drop as low as £49!!

Its brilliant that at least AirAsia is constantly striving to make travel to destinations that normally gets people worried with the cost of travelling is now very possible! Congrats to AirAsia on this new destination and i cant wait to see what AirAsia Group CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes has got to say on a personal level via his blog

So if you are planning to travel to London AirAsia style, Online bookings opened at 8pm Tuesday (Malaysian time) for the five-times-a-week direct flights which will be for the travel period between March 11 and Oct 24.

Govt Maika Bailout?

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

There is all this talk about Bailout’s being debated in American and today i saw a weird piece of news that made a little confused!

This was on Malaysiakini

Former Federal Territory MIC chief VKK Teagarajan suggested that the government pumped in RM150 million into Maika to help the 66,000 investors who had put in about RM106 million of their hard-earned cash into the venture.

For the benefit of those who don’t know who Maika are : (more…)
