One of my “web guru’s” Alan has submitted his entry into the Design By Human’s Halloweek competition. Alan is a self-learned designer who works from his humble home churning out brilliant piece of work via web and his passion for design.

The entries are mostly dominated by the worlds best designers and its good to see our local talent coming up with work that in my view matches the worlds best! Lets help our Malaysian brother’s hard work pay off by voting for his entry.

It requires a simple registration into and you can vote for his work.

RIP Mr JB Jeyaretnam

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Delirium would like to express their deepest condolences to the family of Mr JB Jeyaretnam on his passing. JBJ was the leader of the Workers’ Party of Singapore, challenging the ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), which had effectively ruled Singapore as a one-party state.

Representing the Workers’ Party, Jeyaretnam defeated the People’s Action Party’s Pang Kim Him in the 1981 Anson by-election with 51.9% to 47.1% of the vote to become Singapore’s first opposition MP. He was again re-elected to the same seat in 1984 as one of only two opposition politicians to win in that election.

Later, however, Jeyaretnam was brought down by a series of politically-motivated charges and fines in a successful effort to disbar and prevent him from further taking part in future elections. Two months after his 1984 re-election, he was charged for allegedly mis-stating his party accounts.

This man has been as low as low can get but he kept going and never gave up.We could learn a thing or two for this man who had the motivation for the sake of his nation. RIP JBJ and you will definitely be missed.

Stories are slowly emerging from various sources including from sources closer to home

US Presidential Debate

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) participate in the first 2008 Presidential debate. Its great that the people of the nation get to decide who their leader is going to be based on public debates which gives the people a opportunity to decide on their own.

If only Bush could decide who his successor is going to be and sets his own transition plan. I hope someday we have this exact scenario’s where we decide who leads us and not the out-going leader. I personally feel that the people deserve the opportunity to watch the potential new leaders go up against the seasoned once. I think the new aspiring leaders would be first to come on the stage to debate and the current crop taking that for granted.

(Imagine the opposition leader and PM of Malaysia debating in the similar magnitude!! :P )

Interested to watch the entire debate? (more…)

Datuk Semi-Value

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I can’t believe there are people out there still debating things like the former minister and MIC president being relevant to today’s political scene etc. There are people who say that MIC is the best and is the hope of the nation etc.. I think race based politics are a load of crap and any party which is claiming to protect the rights of a particular race is up to no good. I personally feel that no part should have exclusively and MIC just again and again prove this point. Maika is the infamous scandal that ripped off millions from the Indian society in the name of a investment company that made many people extremely rich and this is another episode in how a party that protects the rights of a race operates in Malaysia.

This is something i got off Malaysia-Today. How much money does the leadership have? I would be interested to know how much the MIC leadership is worth compared to the net worth of all the Indians in Malaysia(minus AK of course)! (more…)

Happy 58th Birthday RPK

Monday, September 29th, 2008

27th Sept was RPK’s 58th birthday. Unfortunately the ace blogger cant celebrate his birthday with his loved once as he is being held without trial at Kamunting. His wife Marina and his daughters got the chance to meet the man at the detention center.

After reading the experience from RPK’s wife Marina, it struck me hard. Does he deserve what he is going through right now? This is a 58 year old man who is not in the best physical situation and all he did was blog? Yes maybe his articles were not the favourite of some but he just spoke his mind and if someone had a problem with it, why wasn’t he charged and given a chance to defend himself?

Below is what has happened (YOU HAVE TO READ IT) (more…)

Singapore F1 GP

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

The first night race ever will make its debut today at the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix. When the idea was first mooted, everyone thought it would be a crazy idea to hold at night race as there are many concerns particularly safety issues. After much consideration and deliberation it was agreed upon and hence the Singapore GP was born.

The track is around the Marina Bay area with 16,000 lights will light up the track.

Do You Gravatar?

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

I never actually checked out gravatar till recently when i noticed that every posting that danny made on a gravatar enabled website, he had a little icon appearing next to his name(in his case, his picture). So i was wondering how on earth does he do that!

Then i found gravatar!!

A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled

Go Daddy Goes 2.0

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

GoDaddy.com is the world’s largest domain name registrar has revamped its website and gone 2.0.If you own a website or considering to get one, you most likely stopped by godaddy to check on the availability of your site.I even have friends who have sites that are hosted on godaddy and have not have problems so far! I dropped by the site today and found the brand new design and i think it is pretty awesome.

The site looks much cleaner with the 2.0 design and it promotes easy browsing. The browsing experience is very important and they have done a superb job in re-desinging the page.
