Mobile Number Portability

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Mobile phone users can now enjoy the freedom of switching network service providers without having to forego their original phone number (including the prefix). I remember a friend of mine telling me about 3-4years ago that this is something that is already available in America and some European countries and it was pitched to a few mobile phone companies but it fell flat on its face at that time.

Its has been taken seriously since and now users have got the option of moving providers without loosing their mobile phone numbers. This is great news for the consumer who can now opt to go for a provider that provides maximum according to the individual usage.

There will be a fee of RM25 for each change.The service starts this Friday for pre-paid users and subsequently for post paid users in 2weeks time. The service will go 100% by sometime in October

Those using XP :

* click Start -> Connect To

* Select Properties
* Click on Network Tab
* Highlight “Internet Protocol”
* Click on Properties at bottom right

* Click “Use the Following DNS server addresses

MCMC Blocks Malaysia Today

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

Its confirmed! Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has ordered all internet service providers (ISPs) to block Malaysia Today. This has got to be a first for such a thing to happen here in Malaysia. The commission blocked because there were comments on the website were insensitive, bordering on incitement.

RPK’s blog has been on of the free for all websites that gives un-sensored news whethere controversial or not to the masses. If his average hits per day is anything to go by, the site is definately one of the most influencial websites there is in Malaysia. (more…)

MCA Youth want apology from Umno

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I saw this report on the star yesterday where MCA Youth will demand an apology from Bukit Bendera Umno chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail over a racist statement he supposedly uttered when campaigning for the Permatang Pauh by-election.

Racism is a horible thing and should never never be tolarated but what impressed me most was how open some people are making sure that its not tolarated.

Kudos to MCA Youth for making the right noises and everyone should follow this example. It doesnt matter who you are and where your alliance lay but racism must be killed before it out grows it self.

Indian Harry vs Western Harry

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

Now this is hilarius. Warner Bros has filed a suit against boolywood for it’s latest movie titled “Hari Puttar“. Warner is claiming that “Hari Puttar sound too similiar to “Harry Potter”.

Come on!! I’m quite sure no ones gonna get confused especially when the spoken language is 100% different. While at it why not copywrite the whole English language and not share it?
