Guess who’s back!

Just about a year since we sent up a space tourist with our tax money, we are already contemplating on how we are going to blow more money on sending another one up. Apparently the 2nd chap who didnt get to go up has been crying and refused to come out from under his bed since the take off.

Apparently Malaysia was lucky as Russia had given its assurance to take one more Malaysian astronaut in 2011 or 2012 - yea…lucky! So if all goes well the kid under the bed can come out, go for a holiday in Russia(refresher) and enjoy his space trip!

The Russians simply love us!

Singapore

If you are a frequent at Delirium, you would have noticed that the site has been quiet for about a week.I was away at Singapore for a workshop and hardly had time to blog or even go online proper. Anyway..Im not a fan of the country simply because of the lifestyle and the food is poor as compared to home but hey..a Singaporean would say the same about that(nothing tops home) .

While i was there the one thing i enjoy about the country is how organized and well planned everything is.The list goes on and on and on but im going to choose the transportation system because i had to use the public transport to shuttle myself around. I toke a lot of cabs to move around and i must say its awesome. Stop a cab and get in, tell the dude where your heading and he takes you there with a meter to give you cost.The cabs are clean and some cabbies are not the friendliest but at least they keep their mouths shut and take you where you need to go as fast as they can.

Why are they so dicipled? Have a look at the signages all over the country above.

Fear Factor always works.If something is hard to fix, enforce it hard and eventually everyone will abide.Especially if its something fundamental..ie transportation system.

This is a small part of it. The trains,busses and cabs actually compliment each other very well. They are all connected and that is simply a sign that its a well planned .Awesome work!
Excuses like they are a small country and all are not good enough anymore, are smaller states as good as that small country?

Doubly Divorce

Roslan Ngah took a second wife, he might have wondered if she would get along with his first. He need not have worried. The two women got on so well they decided to leave him at the same time.

Faced with their united stand, Roslan, a 44-year-old Malaysian Muslim, divorced his two wives, aged 46 and 35, in an Islamic Shariah Court in northeastern Terengganu state on Tuesday, a lawyer said Wednesday.

According to Islamic law, a woman can submit a request to leave her husband, but the pronouncement of divorce must come from the man or a court. Islam allows a man to have four wives.

Salwa Mansor, the second wife’s lawyer, said the wives cited irreconcilable differences and other complaints.

The Star daily quoted Roslan as saying that he was aware his two wives had become close over the years.

“They are like good friends but I never imagined that both of them had collectively decided to divorce me,” Roslan was quoted him as saying. “I never expected our marriages to end in this manner.”

Roslan has four children with his first wife and two with his second.

Roslan reportedly said he would marry again, “God willing.”

“If my fate says so, I have no qualms and this time I hope that my marriage will last forever,” The Star quoted him as saying.

What is a Blog?

What is the definition of blogs?

Wikipedia’s definition says :

A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order.Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting) are part of a wider network of social media. Micro-blogging is another type of blogging which consists of blogs with very short posts.

Agree?

I started blogging about a year ago and now about 8 months self hosted. To date i have a 4 blogs which im in the midst of consolidating into maybe 2. Some people blog for fun, some to make a buck or two or some dont really know why they blog!

Why do i blog?

I blog because i like expressing myself. Its a awesome way for me to get my thoughts out there and if im lucky i get some responces from these thoughts. Everyday we all see lots of things,meet lots of people and i felt that i needed a channel to express all this. Thus i landed right here…blogging.

Sometimes I find my self learning new things.Stuff i never knew before and so, naturally i take some info about it from reliable sources and give me thoughts together with that info. Why? So when i want to re-visit it, i know where to go and hopefully that piece of info comes in valuable to someone out there!

Blogging in my view has become a important part of people’s lives nowadays. Some people win elections by blogging,some meet new friends, some discover that they are experts in certain things(which they never knew they were) and some become rich!

If you dont blog…try it! Its pretty interesting and its got lots to offer you and your readers. There was once a little bird who told someone that a blog is a online diary ONLY. Anything else is not a blog, its simply a duplication of the original source of info. I for one don’t agree with that.

Look at it differently……A blog is your piece of real estate on the World Wide Web. You can do anything you want with it because you own it. If you choose to talk about yourself..there will be someone interested,sports? there are truck loads who share the same interest or even adult stuff..there is a market for it!

So…the way i see it, blog is not a four letter word which you can easily define anymore…Its complex and its a superb source for you to say what you want too, to who ever visits!

Its the future of media…they don’t call it new media for nothing isn’t it!
