Police Arrest Five To Assist In Nurin Murder Probe

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28 (Bernama) — Police arrested five people, one of them a woman, in separate raids in Shah Alam last night to assist them in their probe into the murder of an eight-year-old girl, Nurin Jazlin Jazimin.

Besides the arrests of the five, aged between 27 and 33 years, the police also seized two cars and five mobile phones, Bukit Aman CID Director Datuk Christopher Wan Soo Kee said in a statement.

He said the arrests were made following a public tip-off.

At about noon today, the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court issued an order to remand the four men for a week from today to help in the police investigation.

The woman was released by the police.

Meanwhile, from information obtained by Bernama, the arrests were the first made since “Ops Sunti” was launched to hunt down Nurin Jazlin’s murderer after her body was found stuffed in a sports bag at a shoplot in Jalan PJS 1/48, Taman Petaling Utama, Petaling Jaya, on Sept 17.

A couple, both 33, were the first among the five to be arrested, in Persiaran Bistari, Section 7, Shah Alam. They are from Bukit Kuda, Klang.

Then, a 28-year-old man from Wakaf Baharu in Tumpat, Kelantan, was arrested at a shophouse in Jalan Kristal, also in Section 7, Shah Alam.

It is learnt that the man tried to resist arrest. Police seized a handphone and a Proton Iswara car from him.

Reporters waiting at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital this morning saw the five people being brought to the hospital in two police cars at 9.20am, believed to be for DNA tests.

The four men were attired in pink T-shirts which bore the printed words “Lokap Kuala Lumpur” (Kuala Lumpur Lockup) while the woman, who appeared to be pregnant, was in a black “baju kurung” and white scarf.

They were later seen coming out of the KLH Forensic Department and were taken away by the police, apparently to the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court to obtain a remand order on them.

The four men were brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court in two police vans, the first vehicle with two men arriving at 11.30am and the second with two more coming 20 minutes later.

One of the men who was brought in the second van caused a commotion when he kicked a press photographer when a group of press cameramen tried to snap pictures of the duo alighting from the van at the court compound.

The photographer was unhurt.

At about noon, Magistrate Nurmala Salim issued remand orders for a week from today on the four men.

Meanwhile, a visit to Nurin Jazlin’s family home in Section 1, Wangsa Maju, here saw the front door locked from the outside, indicating that no one was in.

Nurin Jazlin, a Year Two pupil of Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Desa Setapak, was reported missing on Aug 20 when she went alone to a nearby night market.

The “Ops Sunti” special team comprises police personnel from Bukit Aman, and the Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sentul district and Petaling Jaya district police contingent headquarters, and is led by the Federal CID director.

Devide Time Well or Get Devided!

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

When you read a piece of news like the one below, you just feel the pain the poor guy went through! ouch!

Jealous wife cuts off man’s penis

JOHOR BARU: A 48-year-old Indonesian woman cut off her husband’s penis out of jealousy because he had been giving more attention to his second wife.

The Indonesian man, 43, was about to doze off next to his wife at a kongsi for foreign construction workers in Taman Flora, Pulai, here at 11pm on Saturday when the incident occurred.

The wife took out a knife and cut off her husband’s penis while shouting insults and accusations at him.

The man’s loud screams of pain woke up other workers at the kongsi who hurried to his room and, seeing his condition, rushed him to Kulai Hospital.

Nusajaya OCPD Supt Abd Aziz Ahmad said the doctors were able to reattach the organ.

Police have detained the wife and she would be investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for causing hurt with a weapon.

Supt Abd Aziz said the second wife is in her 30s and does not live at the same kongsi.
