Some 10 years after remarking that Singapore might rejoin Malaysia if the island state’s economy faltered and if Malaysia pursued meritocracy, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew has again spoken on the subject.

“They have got all the resources. If they would just educate the Chinese and Indians, use them and treat them as their citizens, they can equal us and even do better than us and we would be happy to rejoin them,” Lee said.

Soyuz TMA-11 spacecraft carrying Malaysia’s first astronaut Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha blasted-off into space from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at exactly 9.21pm .Im glad that everything went well and there was a live telecast on Astro last night showing the whole blast-off unfold.

My favourite part of the program was the bit when our prime minister thanked Tun M for initiating this whole Angkasawan Program.Im sure Tun M who is recuperating from his surgery would have been proud of that moment!

Penang is my favourite place for my mini holidays and this is because im a fool for beaches and good food! This is the first part of the stuff i love Penang for and today its going to be about the one thing i refuse to leave Penang till i get(im serious! ask my friends they’ll tell u :) )…

Penang Road Cendol

If you dont know what a cendol is , It contains the cendol jelly, santan, brown sugar and kidney beans and  crushed ice.

Normally you should be able to get cendol almost at every eatery but the Penang Road Cendol is in a league of its own in my opinion. The stall is located next to the Joo Hooi Restaurant and its walking distance from Komtar and Prangin Mall.when you get there you’ll see 2 cendol stalls, this one is right next to the restaurant(youll definately know which stall to go too based on the crowd :) ).

I have been here soo many times and during my last visit i noticed that they have a branch in Giant Subang but i refuse to go there and try it simply because this cendol stall is another reason i will want to go back to Penang :)

It was only a matter of time before the goddess Meenakshi descended from her lofty perch and began to distribute her blessings over the World Wide Web. The Meenakshi temple in Madurai is one of the most sacred sites for Hindus yet not everyone is able to make a pilgrimage into central Tamil Nadu to be blessed by the goddess. …Read the rest of this article

Have you been reading the our latest attempt of buying success??
Its called the Angkasawan Program!! On the October 10, 2007 our very own
Angkasawan/Space Tourist. How did this whole thing come along??
Apparently we bought some Sukhoi Su-30  for our defence and it was a freebie that was thrown in, its like getting a free toy when you buy a Happy Meal or maybe we wanted the free ride so we got the Russian gear cause who we kidding, it will take lots of hard work to acheive that isnt it? not our style!?hmmm…ponder about that!!

Lets have a look at a profile of a astronaut in the same mission:

Peggy A Whitson(Ph.D) - Nasa Astronaut - Biography

Now lets have a look at our Angkasawan

Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor - “Angkasawan” - Biography

Compare the profiles, i rest my case. What are we trying to acheive  by this? Glory? Pride? or bragging rights? Beats Me!

The Russians have declared our angkasawan a”cosmonaut” but Nasa identifies him as a “Spaceflight Participant” .The Russians are definitely going to sell us more Sukhoi Su-30’s with that declaration!

I was wondering what is going to happen when in orbit Wikipedia gave me a run down!

Scientific program of the Malaysian astronaut

# Experiment Code Description
1 Cells in Space CIS Study of the effects of microgravity and space radiation on eukaryotic cells focusing on changes in the structure and function at the cellular and molecular levels
2 Microbes in Space MIS Study of the effects of microgravity on motility of bacteria, drug resistances as well as changes in gene expression (using the microarray approach). Expect to show some effects of bacterial growth using a pre-determined minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC).
3 Protein Crystallisation in Space PCS The purpose of this experiment is to compare the crystal growth of lipases on Earth with that grown in microgravity. Several test conditions will also be tested to improve the protein crystallisation process on Earth as well as in space.
4 Malaysian Food in Space FIS Increase the variety and quality of food available to Malaysian cosmonaut by identifying new food items (typical Malaysian food).
5 Study of spinning motions in microgravity environment TOP A physics demonstration to show the effect of microgravity on the motions of spinning object using a top.
6 PR and Symbolics PAS PR and Symbolics activities.

no’s 1-3 sounds deep no’s 4 and 5 are truly Malaysia Boleh activities and i don’t know what no 6 is! I hope the top’s got our flag on it at least and hopefully he doesn’t accidentally drop it :P! If your wondering how much is spent on this whole trip its a mere RM$95Million(USD$26Mil). Imagine what we could do with that kinda doe!

If your remotely interested to read about the Angkasawan Project ,its here!

With all that said, wish our Angkasawan a safe journey and Malaysia Boleh!
