The Academy Awards (popularly known as the Oscars) are accolades presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry, including directors, actors, and writers.

Here are some of the big winners from the show which i finally got to watch last night.

Best Picture - The Hurt Locker
Actor in a Leading Role – Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart)
Actor in a Supporting Role – Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds)
Actress in a Leading Role – Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side)

I am glad it wasn’t a full swing and a good mix of winners from various films, i personally am glad Sandra Bullock won in her role in The Blind Side

Brad & Angelina Split?

Apparently super couple Angelian Jolie and Brad Pitt are heading for a split! You cant call it a divorce because they are not married but since they have been a item for a few years and have a few kids to show for it and im sure lotsa wealth gathered in the process, a divorce lawyer has been consulted for the settlement.

There are many reports coming out with reports saying that its TRUE and some saying naa, load of crap . Wonder where this story ends up and whats more interesting is watching the speculations online :)

So you single men/ladies.. Another 2 is back in the market! (Warning – Comes with multi ethnic children and a load of wealth)

Simon Says Sing For Haiti

American Idol judge is planing to cut a single together with a host of artist to raise funds for the quake ravaged Haiti. BEYONCE, LADY GAGA, ROBBIE WILLIAMS and WYLEF JEAN are being lined up to help raise money. And the music mogul’s stable of talent like SUSAN BOYLE and LEONA LEWIS will be involved.

Hopefully this single raises as much money as possible and it reaches Haiti as soon as possible!

Last Idol Season For Simon Cowell

American Idol  judge Simon Cowell said he’ll be leaving the popular Fox talent show at the end of the season, the network announced Monday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California.

I’m pretty sure that the ratings are going to drastically drop without Simon in the equation and since it would be season 10! I think that it might be downhill for the show from next year. The irony is that there has been some rumours that Simon might be reuniting with former Idol judge Paula Abdul in his new gig which should kick off in 2011. Simon will be bringing X-Factor to US where he will be both producing and judging.

Will you still be watching Idol without Simon? And who do you think should replace the super straight Simon Cowell?

The Danish apparently are the happiest people alive! Oprah went to find out why! The Danish apparently part 50% tax and they are happy to pay that much. And we complain about paying 28%(highest bracket)!

Drug Tunnel

48 feet in the United States and 35 feet in Mexico, the tunnel contains side walls framed with 2-by-4 wooden studs and ceiling construction. “It’s elegant in the sense it has electrical work wired into the Mexico side. It even has a hose for ventilation and lightning

I was a report on CNN over Astro about the discovery of this tunnel that links America and Mexico which is apparently used for drugs transporting after 2 tons of marijuana, stacked in bales between the 2 countries. Being a big fan of Prison Break, i was amazed at the details and effort that was put in the tunnel which was discovered by human information rather than discovery by the authorities or technology. Mr Sign Sealed Delivered is the 11th UN Messenger of Peace after  Nobel Peace Prize winner Elie Wiesel, Michael Douglas, primate expert Jane Goodall and conductor Daniel Barenboim — who use their prominent positions to promote the U.N. and help the less fortunate.

Personally i think this is a superb appointment and i wish Mr.Stevie Wonder all the best in his new “mission”
