In laymans terms, did you watch Avatar in the theaters and did they give you this huge pair of glasses to wear while watching it? Well if you felt like you were so close to purple people and was afraid you almost got kissed, Thats 3D!

Now imagine having one of those at home? Imagine watching football and the feel of the ball coming so close to it you end up heading a wall thinking its the ball :P , Next month thats going to hit our shores! (more…)

Byond Team, Update Your Website!

Byond is the brand spanking new introduction by Astro providing Malaysia their first taste High Definition tv (even though other parts of the world have had it for a while, in fact are already experiencing 3D viewing). While Astro have invested apparently millions in the roll out, they must have forgotten about paying someone to update their website.

Byond Remote – No Sound Control!

So every new product has its bugs. I enjoy watching my favourite games and movies on HD but the Byond remote control simply wont let me control the volume! That means, that its stuck at a level(which i hope isnt max, cause its pretty low) so i have to control it via the tv.

I thought that it was only me but after some checking apparently its a issue right now with those who use Byond.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon and im keen to see what the aps button & how to use the very tempting usb slots are for! :)

ESPN HD

ESPN HD is now live on Astro! This means we can now watch the BPL games on HD! Brilliant :) The Byond offering now stands at 5 channels, 2 on the learning suite, 2 on the sports and 1 movie

How do you find the HD channels on Astro? Easy, add 20 to the channel no’s and you have the HD equivalent of the available channel. ie – ESPN is on channel 812, so add 20 to that and you have ESPN HD on 832.

The programming is not exactly the same of the ‘parent’ channel’ so check it out frequently.

Byond Has Arrived!

Finally i received my Astro b.yond decoder, dish and remote control together with the new byond activated card which will give me the HD service which i have been waiting for. Getting the installation was not exactly a breeze, i subscribed for the service on the 14th of December 09 and after numerous calls to astro, i finally got a agent who was interested to help me get it sorted and hence the installation is done.

Only after 1 day after my last call i received a call from the Astro Byond team who gave me a call run down on the terms and conditions
