Lets Make Em Keep It Clean

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Parties are always fun and a blast but here in Malaysia, post parties are nothing short of a eye sore! I was at Thailand a few years ago and while my friend and me were watching a parade along the main street in Phuket, we saw something that was new to us. The municipal council was cleaning up right behind the procession to ensure that the infamous tourist destination remained clean.

Now back to home (more…)

Smart Tunnel Traffic Announcements

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

21smartI was driving through the Smart Tunnel yesterday and listening to Fly Fm. As i got into the tunnel i had a interuption of some Malay dude speaking. So i thought that i was loosing signal from Fly Fm and some cross to another Malay station. But then i got the frequency back and music was clear again on the radio.

Then i got the interuption again, but since the volume was loud  i heard the entire interuption and to my suprise it was a traffic announcement specifically for Smart Tunnel users! This is brilliant! At least you now know what to expect in front and to plan on which exit to take to avoid the traffic jams.

The only thing is the announcements are in Bahasa Malaysia and not in English as well. What if one didnt understand Bahasa Malaysia?

Well done on this service and i think that its very helpful :)

art.tunnel.cbp

48 feet in the United States and 35 feet in Mexico, the tunnel contains side walls framed with 2-by-4 wooden studs and ceiling construction. “It’s elegant in the sense it has electrical work wired into the Mexico side. It even has a hose for ventilation and lightning

I was a report on CNN over Astro about the discovery of this tunnel that links America and Mexico which is apparently used for drugs transporting after 2 tons of marijuana, stacked in bales between the 2 countries. Being a big fan of Prison Break, i was amazed at the details and effort that was put in the tunnel which was discovered by human information rather than discovery by the authorities or technology.
