Mac “if they want to send you food” Delivery

Food delivery by our favourite fast food outlets is the best thing that ever happened after “teh tarik tongkat ali”! Its awesome…you get to make one phone call and your have instant joy! The food delivery has been dominated by the pizza outlets for a long time and of late the latest addition to the party is our favourite burgers.

I started utilizing this service since they had their soft launch long time ago..When they first started, the biggest issue i had was the extremely long wait time to get someone knocking at your door with a bundle of joy..Imagine this, you come home after a hard days of work..You don’t have food at home so you pick up the phone and call for your “value meal” which consist a burger ,a drink and a small box of oil sticks and cost you 12 bucks(i can get a whole banana leaf rice with multiple dishes by the side) So much for value but since your tired and just don’t have the energy after work, you order it…Then the real helpful person who’s command of English is as good as “Hello sir can i be of helping you” says…Your food will be there in 30-45minutes. .and when they say 30-45minutes, they actually mean 30-45mins if your lucky!!

By the time the food reaches you, your not hungry anymore cause the gastric juices has already invaded the vacant tummy of yours and the oil sticks look like they were fried a week ago! Anyway…i guess that’s the way it is isn’t it?

My record time waiting for the meal to arrive was nearly 2hours(apparently they couldn’t decide which outlet was closest to my house, and asking me was obviously a insult to their intelligence so they didn’t)

Whats your longest wait time???

The latest outcome i had was about a couple of weeks ago when i was starving,i called them and they toke my order then told me..”oh,i’m sorry sir we cant deliver”,so i ask them why? Apparently it was raining near the outlet where my food was coming from and they cant deliver!! I look out of my balcony at the blazing sun and tell the kind lady on the other end,its hot here..what rain you talking about?? Her response was…….sorry!!

That was a new one for me to digest and i decided since, if i wanted to call for my food,i better be holding more then one menu..The consumer has lost the power and now the eateries decided who they want to sell too or not! Amazing isn’t it!!

Here are some options you have just in case one or the other decides your money isn’t good enough for them.

PizzaHut- 1300882525

Domino’s Pizza – 1300888333

Canadian Pizza – 1300880241

Minority Reports

I received a sms on my mobile phone a few weeks ago saying something about
a protest that was going to be held at PutraJaya on the 12th of Aug 2008 by Indians
for Indians demanding rights or certain things for them..The highlight of this sms was the dress code for me .It said, pls wear a jippa(indian mens outfit) or a saree(the ladies version).I guess the people who’s attention they were not too good with their colour’s :P

Check this out, it was perfect timing..In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the country. We are sending a gentle reminder to the govt saying…Hi, were Indians and we exist too! I totally can understand the frustration of these people.Everyone deserves to be treated as equals. But the reality is, you don’t always get what you deserve! How do you fix it? To me its a no brainer! You vote the govt into place…Its your say..You know exactly what to expect from certain ppl who are there in the first place as a representative of your kind.If the person you put there doesn’t bother who will?

Its like expecting your neighbours parents to educate you because your parents rather
spend their time saving their money for their retirement funds :)

I think people work better when they know that if there are others waiting to take their jobs! When you have ultimate security ,you have space for slacking or what ever your agenda is..

My 2 cents worth :
Making noise wont help your cause, your actions can..The publicity your getting might not necessarily work
towards your benefit, If the boss is not right..the company can never move forward.

The capital city

I lived in the capital city all my life and spend most of my working life in the heart of the capital city(unfortunately?fortunately?…hard one to tell) From where i live i take on of the busiest entry points in to town.Ok enough foreplay..ill get to the point, have you been to the central market, kota raya area during peak hours? ITS DISGRACEFUL!! lets work my way through the route i take..i come in via bfields way towards central market then kota raya then pudu to where i work.Going to work isn’t bad cause i leave EARLY(while most of us should be still sleeping) The traffic jam is something that we really cant avoid, but are the obstructions???That surely should be out of the way to ensure everyone moves to and back from their homes/offices safely. You can be in your car/bike/pedestrian or even a commuter on the public transport, i don’t think its safe!

Who are the usual suspects that cause this obstructions??? I think they are :

1)Busses(IN WHITE,unless the have ad’s on them)

2)Busses(That do travel out of the city and back in)

3)Cabs

4)Huge trucks(the owners normally are out to nab our dearest pirates)

Wait a minute…arent these all the ppl who are supposed to make life easy? Help us all make our lives less miserable while on the road? let me help you out with that one…YES!!

Now….forget everything you just read..new thought…

Take all these “obstructions” out of where they “hang out”..Dont you think it be just wonderful?? No obstructions and smooth flowing roads!

Today while i was heading home, i passed kota raya(on my right).Chinatown was on my left and there is a bus stop right in front of the McDonald’s .. There is this huge signage something like -> NO STOPPING,ONLY FOR DROPPING/TAKING PASSENGER’S!! and guess what! the buses(in white) are all parked majestically while their drivers are enjoying a nice hot cup of teh tarik in the mamak(this is about 5pm). Now how about that!

In front of pudu…we have our ever so cool drivers who decided that the bus stand are for losers soo..picking and dropping of passengers in the middle of the road is the “new cool” !

Don’t blame them though…when we have drivers we rely on lives on when we go on the long distance journeys have arrest warrants and a stack of summons, who can mess with them??

Personally i feel pudu raya should be removed(long overdue) Build a nice bus terminal infront of the abandon carpark in front KL Central, isn’t that a really good location? Im sure there are other locations to have Deepavali fairs once a year..isnt there? Most trains, buses come to KL Central, the Jalan Duta entrance to the north-south Highway isnt too far away, there are 2 awesome Hotels to stay in just in case you need to catch a early bus(or a budget hotel across the road if the dollars and cents is a issue) Eateries are surplus! You even can shop while waiting for your bus! If you have a flight to catch and your not from town, isnt the erl station(train that goes to the airports) a couple of minutes away? I may be wrong but it sounds like a no brainer to me :)

It makes me wonder sometimes….was the city built with a blue print or was the blue print made after the city was built? Ever wondered why we need to have lrt tracks above road level? (image the mess under ground thats not allowing that!) oh well…i guess nothings perfect but its still home and i love it!

PS-I save the white buses topic for another day :)

Hopefully i spoke too soon and its all be fixed and if i ever have kids one day…They get to enjoy a more organized chaos!

Pudu Raya (looks good isn’t it,smells good too!!)
