Legends That We Forgot To Remember

Sitting on the ugly spot of 147th in the Fifa World Ranking is nothing but a eye sore. Not when at one point Malaysia qualified for the Olympics and only 1 game away from qualifying for the 1982 Spain World Cup! (Bet you didn’t know that ha! Ill tell you all about that soon). Since then it has been all down hill for the faith of our national football thanks to various factors.

I got the chance to meet the cream of the crop that gave us something to cheer about till today when i was invited by @maxiscomms for a session with legends from our footballing past Santokh Singh, Dato’ Soh Chin Aun, Hassan Sani & King James for a very personal session. This 4 gentlemen have been appointed by Maxis as ambassadors for the Fifa world cup. Personally, its the best decision made by Maxis to bring the legends. together so Malaysians get a opportunity to understand what our past was made off, what made is tick and what made us so special. Hopefully that will rub off the current crop of players, coaches, management who hopefully get inspired and start making a real difference. [Read more...]

My Fab 4

I had the opportunity to meet and interview the legends from our footballing past thanks to @maxiscomms . There was Santokh Singh, Dato’ Soh Chin Aun, Hassan Sani & King James who have been appointed by Maxis as their brand ambassadors in conjunction with their broadcast sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Personally i have to applaud maxis for this appointment as th2 fab4 are the pinnacle of Malaysian football and the younger generation have a opportunity to see what Malaysian football has achieved.

Watch this space for my coverage and interpretation of what the legends had to say to some of the questions that was asked and their very honest opinions of the various topics.

Carlsberg In Chinese

The game V Chelsea was the last time that Liverpool will be wearing the Carlsberg logo at Anfield as the sponsorship ends next weekend and Standard Chartered will become our new shirt sponsor next season. The ban on alcohol advertising in sports that is already in effect in certain European Union countries also contributed. Another factor was the inability to sell the shirts in countries which ban alcohol

Thank you to Carlsberg for their sponsorship over the last seventeenth years, we are going to miss having Carlsberg down the front of our shirts. For fans who have been supporting the club for a long long time, its a big part of the Liverpool history now.

All my Liverpool kits which i purchased with my own dough carry Carlsberg so it does have some sentimental value for me!

Its been a poor poor season but hopefully next season we will be back to winning ways!

England..England!

The worlds biggest tournament is due this year, The World Cup happens every 4 years once and this year marks the 4th year since the last and for the first time its happening in South Africa. Even if you are not the biggest football fan, World Cup will draw the numbers who would be glued on their tv sets even if its the wee hours to watch the games. [Read more...]
