Bahrain F1 , Lotus Finish Race

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Both Kovalainen and Jarno Trulli made a clean start and Kovailanen finished the team’s first ever Grand Prix in 15th place. Both Virgin and Hispania failed to finish the race as all four cars went into retirement. Karun Chandhok of HRT was the first the retire followed by Lucas Di Grassi of Virgin. The Timo Glock and Brunno Senna retired joined the list later on.

Whats interesting is the back benches are on a race of their own with Lotus,Virgin & Hispanic Racing. There is passion, there is spirit and their is fight and im sure its only going to get better. Hopefully the little battle of the new comers will only help the teams improve their performance on track and eventually they creap into the mid field teams.

Congrats Team Lotus!

Liverpool Fans Turn On The Heat!

Friday, March 5th, 2010

American owners don’t have the best reputation in the BPL. The 2 biggest clubs in England Liverpool and Manchester United both have American owners who came with big promises but the only thing that they have delivered is a huge debt and 2 sets of really pissed off fans.

Liverpool supporters have decided to turn on the heat and have embarked on a city-wide billboard campaign in their latest effort to rid the club of current owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks.

I bet the yanks didn’t see this coming!

*United fans, its your turn now* :P

Tiger Apology

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

So finally Tiger Woods has decided to come out and make a public apology after being out of the public eye since a November car accident outside his  home, Tiger Woods returned to the spotlight to issue an apology to his family, friends and sponsors.

I personally think that this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. He is a sports man for heavens sake not a public appointed Member of Parliament! Anyway, the apology i feel is wayyy to late if he wanted to make it in the first place and it looks super scripted! He’s a bad actor and should have practiced a bit more dont you think?

Having said that, i still think he is a brilliant golfer and he should get back to the greens sooner than later.

RTM Get Exclusive World Cup Rights

Friday, January 29th, 2010

This is horrible news! Apparently RTM has got exclusive rights to the world cup!

RTM has been given exclusive broadcasting rights to the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa from June 11 to July 12, said Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

He said RTM had been given the rights to air 35 World Cup matches, of which 24 would be telecast live while 11 would be broadcast as delayed telecasts.

So this means that there is going to be no World Cup coverage on Astro which is pissing me off big time! This means the reason i subscribed for Astro Byond in the first place, to watch the world cup on HD might not happen!!! WTF! Astro better have a good explanation for this if this is true and looks like #yorais has got his revenge :(

Update!

*Apparently Astro is still in the running for the regional rights, so it better work out! :S
*The report now has been updated that that all games will be available on HD… Close call :P

Read the full report HERE and the report indicating that Astro will get their HD broadcast rights

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

The brand new Team Merdeces GP Petronas team have unveiled their car for the new Formula 1 2010-11 season at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. Nico Rosberg and seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher along with team management Ross Brawn were introduced to the crowd in the event as well.

Formula 1 became slightly dry after the retirement of the former champ Michael Schumacher and the new season will see the former taking the wheels again in the Former Brawn GP team. Its definately going to be one interesting season with new teams taking the grid and also the much anticipated return of the Lotus F1 team.

Wonder if Ferarri just lost half their fan base to their bitter rivals Mercedes Benz :)

Monday, December 28th, 2009

Petronas has been in F1 for a long time being principal sponsor for the Sauber Petronas Team and subsequently the tittle sponsor of the BMW F1 team. With the team they have been sponsoring in the previous season pulling out but being bought out by its previous owner Peter Sauber, Petronas were left with a decision to make.

A1 GP Dead

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Remember the A1 GP? The race touted to be the 2nd fiddle to F1 could be dead if not already dead yet. I enjoyed the race simply because it ran similar spec cars and it was a even playing field. So with some good team work and a good driver can win you races, so that means if you had money bags alone.. It doesn’t mean you can finish on top of the podium.

Recently there hasn’t been much news about the A1 GP so i decided to have a check on what was up with the races. To my surprise, the A1 GP website is dead! So i went looking for news about the race and there wasn’t much?! (more…)

Michael Schumacher Joins Mercedes GP Petronas

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

After much media speculations about who will occupy the vacant drivers seat at the Mercedes GP Petronas team, Micheal Schumacher has taken up the offer and joined the team that gave him his racing initiation. Schumi got his racing apprenticeship as part of the Junior Programme in 1990 with Mercedes-Benz Motorsport.

Schumi has seven Drivers‟ World Championships, 248 Grand Prix starts, 91 victories, 154 podium finishes and 68 pole positions, the 40-year old German needs no introduction following an illustrious and record-breaking Formula One career from 1991 to 2006 at the Jordan, Benetton and Ferrari teams.

He will be reuniting with Ross Brawn who he won all his seven tittles with and will be partnering Nico Rossberg in the former Brawn GP team which has been bought by Mercedes.

Im looking forward to the new season with Schumi making his come back into competitive racing with the team that is defending their championship, only with a new owner and brand name. I cant wait to see where Ferrari fans alliance will be next season considering Schumi is responsible for much of the glory that the Italian team has enjoyed.
