Deepavali 2008

For many years i celebrated Deepavali at KL. This year the drill was slightly different when i went to my better half’s hometown at Raub,Pahang. I was there for only a night but it would be nice to experience the festival with a twist of a “kampung feel” to it.
Im not going to go into details of my experience because I’m sure if your from Malaysia, you would know exactly what celebrating a festival in your hometowns like but I’m going to share some of the pictures that i toke while roaming around the nice piece of land right behind of the family home.
All images were taken with my Canon 1000d DSLR (EF 18-55mm kit lenses)and since I’m a rookie at photography with a DSLR, it was a very interesting experience as i tried some of the info i picked up from various websites. Let me know what you think and if you have comments, please do let me know!

The Kuala Lumpur Photo Festival tomorrow!

keADILan Open House 12th October 2008

Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the leaders of Parti keADILan rakyat had they Hari Raya Open house today at the Club Sultan Sulaiman, Kampung Baru. The event started about 2pm and is expected to go on till about 5pm today. The lrt was the best bet of transportation since a large crowd was expected and its only about a 10minutes walk fron the lrt station.
Getting there from the Kampung Baru lrt station is no trouble at all, you simply have to follow the crowd and you will be directed to the venue of the event. I’m not going to go into details but post all the pictures which i managed to take.I had some views thanks to some “friends” who got me in

As you can probably tell I’m trying my best to figure out my new toy and how it works, the features and definitions. I need to understand these before i can learn the functions and how to take a good picture based on diff variables. Found this nice video describing my new dslr. Know of any good e-books i should get my hands on?? Or whats the best way to learn?
