Facebook Phones

HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa mobile smartphones feature a Facebook button that lets you share all your stuff with your Facebook friends with just one touch. If you snap a photo or record a video, it can be posted on Facebook in one button click. This one would be very cool for Facebook addicts who check their facebook every 2 minutes with this easy one button that takes them straight to facebook.

HTC ChaCha comes loaded with Facebook widgets like a clock with a Facebook stream of updates as a ticker, or the Calendar widget which remembers your friends’ birthdays and events. Follow your favorite friends with the Friend Stream widget. The Facebook button even glows nudging you to share!

Maxis has it available if you are Interested

Google Buying Motorola

Here’s a big one :

Google is acquiring the handset division of Motorola, Motorola Mobility, for $12.5 billion!

Acquisition price equates to $40 per share of Motorola stock, or a premium of 63% over Friday’s closing price.

This means that Google is now in the Hardware Business! Massive news, eventhough Android will still be available to the likes of HTC, Sony Ericsson & Samsung who have done a superb job with the OS but this definately changes the playing field tremendously. Whats really interesting is, from what i hear most mobile hardware patents are owned by Motorola so its much more than a hardware maker that Google is getting its hands on.

Larry Page is definately ringing the changes around Google since coming on board

Looks like a toy ha! It was a actual phone! If memory serves me right, this phone didn’t even have a sim card and it was on Celcom’s 010 .. Me thinks :) There were 2 batteries and it needed to be charged externally and could do nothing but make calls! [Read more...]
