Defrag Tools

Im one of those who diligently cleans up my disk space and defrag’s my notebook at least once every 1 weeks. I dont know if its neccesary but its a habit for me. All this while ive been using the normal disk cleaner and defrag tools of Vista but lately i started using CCleaner for a clean up and i think its pretty decent so far.
Now its time for a external app to do the defrag for me, jsut to see if its any better.
Below are a list of candidates
- Wincontig
- Auslogics
- PageDefrag
- JkDefrag
- Defraggler
- SpeedDefrag
- DisKeeper (non-free)
- O & O Defrag (non-free)
- Ashampoo Magical Defrag (non-free)
- Contig
- PerfectDisk (non-free)
- DefragNT
- Ultra Defragmenter
- Power Defragmenter (based on Contig)
Any ideas which would do the job well??

Apple has announced the release of their second generation iPhone. The launch date for the new iPhone 3G is planned for 11th July 2008. Apple will be launching the new phone world wide in stages.
Apple has also slashed the price of the new iPhone. USD199 for the 8GB model and USD299 for the 16GB model. This will surely boost Apple’s market share in the coming months.
iPhone 3G does come with a few goodies under it’s hood. GPS, full 3G support, App Store, support for Microsoft’s exchange server, support for more languages and many other enhancements including a scientific calculator.
I think the iPhone is pretty awesome and dropping the price to this extend is naturally going to flood the market with these little machines, i just hope it makes a appearance in this region.

Like Google Talk, you can also run the Facebook Chat application from Firefox sidebar.
The advantages are that you need not open your Facebook homepage to see a list of friends that are online and second, you can talk with Facebook friends while reading any web page in Firefox.
To run the Facebook chat messenger from Firefox sidebar, press Ctrl+Shift+B to open the Bookmarks Organizer.
Now go to Organize -> New Bookmark and type the following address:
http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php
Also tick the check-box the says “Load this bookmark in the sidebar”. You may save this under “Bookmarks Toolbar” so you can open Facebook chat window in a single click.
You can do something similar in Opera - Press F4 to open the Opera sidebar and drag the above Facebook link onto that Opera Sidebar.

Notebook Mouse Panel

When i replaced my desktop with a notebook one of the most annoying things that i had to live with was the mouse pad. Notebook gives one mobility to being able to use it anywhere which a desktop cant but being mobile means compromising certain bits ie the mouse.
Some notebooks come with the mouse stick(thats the blue stick that pops out right in the middle of the keyboard) and some both! I don’t like that even more! Nothing like using a proper mouse isn’t it? It gives the user superb control.
Thank god we can now get nice small mouse’s that fits the whole mobility bit ![]()

Vista Home For Everyone

April 23, 2008

MICROSOFT MALAYSIA is cutting the prices for its Windows Vista Home Basic and Home Premium editions, effective immediately.
While the software giant does not set a standard retail price for its products, users can expect to see reductions of 10% to 50%, depending on how they acquire the operating system.
Software piracy has been a major problem in this part of the world and this simple act of cutting price could potentially have lots more people choosing the original software over the pirated versions or known as the “Malaysian version” . Hopefully they extend this price cut to the whole suite of Microsoft products.
This would eventually cripple the pirated versions in the market and eventually set a original software mindset which then everyone can afford.
SP 1 is now available Here or you can call 1-800-88-6295 and get a DVD sent to you. Only if you have the original software installed of course
