IE Market Share Dropping – FAST

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

browser-wars-internet-explorer-vs-firefox-vs-safari-vs-opera-2

For the first time in about 10 years, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser market share fell below 70 per cent, ending 2008 with 68 per cent compare to almost 80 per cent 2-years ago.

At the same time, Firefox’s market share rapidly rose from 13.7 per cent to 21.3 per cent while Apple’s Safari browser jumped to almost 8 per cent from 4.7 per cent, according to data collected by Net Applications.

Although Internet Explorer 7 is the current version of Microsoft’s net browser – and IE8 is expected to come out this year – IE6 is still the dominant browser in business environments.

Personally this is no suprise to me. Firefox is becoming a huge favourite and i forsee more market share being shaved off the dominant IE. Hopefully its more of a evenplaying field sooner rather than later which should see more innovative ideas being put in to get consumers going!

Jailed Because Of A Chicken

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

ht_chicken_070726_ms

I was reading The Star Online and i saw a interesting article about how a chicken thief couldn’t recognize the chicken that he stole and got the court room giggling and how that thief pleaded guilty and for a lighter sentence as he had a wife and two young children to support and how he was poor and he only earned RM25 a day.

The magistrate sentenced him to three months’ jail from Oct 10, the date he was caught red-handed with the chicken at the coop.

Its safer to be a chicken nowdays ha!. I envy those chickens i tell you!

RPK on Slashdot

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

For those of you who think that the world is not watching our actions, think again. RPK has made Slashdot. He made the famous Hollywood blogger Perez Hilton last month as well. The world is watching the rubbish that is going on and whats the guarantee that if the shit goes on that we wont have foreign intervention?

Matter of time in my view if things dont improve

A Innocent Mistake

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

I saw a posting today on Malaysiakini about a racist blogger that has made many people furious. The original posting was from a blogger from KL who goes by the name of Sammy who apparently bashed the daylights out of Indians because her phone got stolen by a couple of Indians.

You can read bits of her alleged posting HERE.

When i first saw the posting i was a little disturbed by her public bashing of a entire kind because of a few that caused her a mobile phone. But then i remembered a conversation i had with a colleague sometime ago.

We were talking about racist and how racist remarks normally come out.

Scenario

Imagine your driving your car and approaching a traffic light, just as your approaching the light it turns yellow but the car in front of you slows down. Since your on your way to see your girlfriend who is waiting for you to take her to buy a new pair of shoes, you are in a rush or you’ll never hear the end of it because you were 2 minutes late. As the light turns green, you overtake the car and see a Chinese lady driving slowly and carefully.

You probably start cursing and calling her names and insulting her religion not realising that it has her ethnicity and background has got absolutely nothing to do with her driving slowly. Then you pick up your girlfriend and blame her for causing the delay say things like “that Chinese &#@$” was driving slow la!” You know how the chinese are la!?@#$@#$%”.

Now imagine if you were extremely early. Same scenario, light changes you slow down without realising that the car is in front of you in the first place. Light turns green, you overtake and drive off without even realising the colour of the car!!

All of us are racist in our own way. Is it because just because you had a experience with someone of a particular race that you decide the rest of that race is the same??

In my view, Sammy was a little fast in jumping the gun and generalizing all Indians. Yes, mistake made because she lost her mobile phone and she has since removed the posting and apologized relentlessly

Personally i felt that it was a bad mistake in jumping the gun and venting too soon. I think anyone would have done the same if in a scenario like yours. I think that everyone should accept her apology and move on with it. She made a bad but i feel a innocent mistake and she is sorry. Period.

The consequences though may be more than you deserve. Maybe you should go in to Bukit Aman and make a report while posting another apology to the race that you generalized and bashed.

Hope the repercussions are not too heavy but i hope its a lesson for all of us. Whether you like it or not, we live in a multi-ethnic society and there are good and bad people living here. We must be sensitive to others and we cannot go around bashing other religions just because a few are not the best.

My 2 cents

RPK Sent To Kamunting

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

This is a truly sad day for all Malaysians and a severe dent to the freedom of speech .RPK will be sent to the Kamunting Detention Center in Taiping, Perak today to begin his two-year detention under the Internal Security Act.

Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar had signed his detention order last night for the blogger to be held without trial under section 8(1) of the tough security law. Under the Act, the government can renew his detention indefinitely.

There was 1 brave blogger who revealed a lot of information without any fear and those allegations were never investigated by any party but he was slammed into a corner and put into detention without trial to keep him quiet.

RPK will join the Hindraf 5 at Kamunting the other detainee’s who have been detained under this horrible piece of law. Sick! THIS IS THE DARK SIDE OF MALAYSIA.

I’m wondering how come Raja Petra’s allegations were not investigated and brought to the court of law? How come whenever a case is filled against the ruling govt, we don’t hear about it?

Mr Syed Hamid, how do you sleep at night?

Keadilan Press Release :Badawi: Wading back from the Rubicon

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Thank God, Theresa Kok has been released from the ISA. The Badawi administration’s lame excuse of not finding any reason to detain her further sounds as ludicrous as Tan Hoon Cheng’s detention is for her protection. Unfortunately, Raja Petra is still detained. Since the crack down began last week, mosques, churches, temples, places of worship and all other places where the public congregate, have seen vigils and prayers for the three detainees and for our country. All religions have in the course of their development been victims of oppression. They are therefore familiar with OPPRESSION and are quick to recognize   one when it happens. But there is a word that is more appropriate than oppression to describe the sinful act of the Badawi administration in the misuse of the ISA, it is TYRANNY! (more…)

Ignorance Is Bliss

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

I don’t see the need as the Parliament will sit after Ramadhan,” Abdullah told reporters after chairing an Umno supreme council meeting

Those were the remarks of PM Abd Badawi when asked about Anwar’s request for a emergency Parliament session to debate a no-confidence motion. Convinient ha! To come to think of it the current government has been nothing but adrressing the issues head on.

1) Anwar requested for a meeting with PM Badawi – Rejected

2) Anwar asked for a emergency parliament debate on a no confidence motion – Rejected

So 2 out of 2 failure rate. Nice piece of stat to go by isn’t it considering potentially the whole party’s survival is at steak. I don’t understand something and i hope someone can explain it to me. (more…)

Free Teresa’ parliamentary Caucus Launch

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Former de facto Law Minister, Zaid Ibrahim today attended the launch of the ‘Free Teresa’ parliamentary caucus by Pakatan parties, led by DAP.

After listening to the speeches by Zaid, it sounds like pure frustration by a subject expert that was brought in to complete a specific task and not being allowed to do that job. We seriously need this change, the world must be laughing their guts out at whats been happening ha!

Sapp Pulls Out Of BN

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Sabah Progressive Party have finally pulled out of the Barisan Nasional Coalition. The party’s supreme council met today and the decision was made. They will remain independent of any coalition after loosing confidence in Barisan Nasional.

In recent years there has not been much attention to the parties from both Sarawak and Sabah only during the election period even thought Sabah accounts for 25 parliamentary seats and Sarawak has 31. That’s is almost 25% of the total 222 seats in the parliament. Huge number that could decide the direction of the nation.

Sapp will stay independent for now and act as another form of a opposition in the parliament but the indications are strong that it might not be the case for too long.

On a personal note i think its long over due that Sabah and Sarawak have been ignored and treated like the adopted child of the nation. They are part of Malaysia and surely desrve much mre than they are already getting!

Anwar a threat?

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

In a article on Utusan Online Anwar Ibrahim is now a threat to national security and the economy according to the Prime Minister. The PM is pointing his finger at Anwar for the poor performance of the country economically and the politically uncertainty as the cause.

Its pretty easy for anyone to point fingers at someone else when things are not really going well. Instead of that what if the government did some good work on the national front and regain the trust and confidence of the rakyat and the outside world??

Haven’t seen such efforts being put in place for a while now.

The fear is now that could this be a early indication of how the PM is going to tackle this issue??

When someone is deemed a threat it could only mean one thing……….Kamunting!

Fingers crossed that its not going to happen!
