Taare Zameen Par

Friday, December 5th, 2008

I’m not much of a Hindi movie fan. To start with i don’t understand the language but occasionally i watch it by reading the subtitles and trying my best to enjoy the movie while doing that. Its like watching a Chinese movie and reading the subtitles but the intensity of the dudes flying from buildings to buildings can distract you (in a good way of course!)

Anyway..Sometime ago i was at my better half’s aunt’s place and a Hindi movie was shown on tv. It didn’t come across as your usual Hindi or Tamil movie where you had the usual boy likes girl but girls parents hate him and wants to kill him but they still end up getting married (with the aid of the dancers that appear outta thin air when they feel like lovey).

The movie was called Taare Zameen Par. It was a Amir Khan film and since i watched his debut into producing in Lagaan. For the record, Lagaan was a brilliant movie that was a Academy Award nominee. The movie reached the top 5 and lost it in the final round. So i had to watch Taare Zameen Par to see what this seasoned actor who was making his debut in directing had in store and boy was i not disappointed! (more…)

India Launches Space Mission

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

India blasted into the international space race Wednesday with the successful launch of an ambitious two-year mission to study the moon’s landscape. The unmanned lunar orbiter Chandrayaan-1, or “moon craft” in ancient Sanskrit, launched at 6:20 a.m. (8:50 p.m. ET) from the Sriharikota space center in southern India.

Now this is what you call a real space mission with the country gaining to benefit as a field that has been dominated by the American’s and Russians. This is in massive contrast as compared to our Angkasawan who went on a expensive holiday on the Russian Soyuz in the expense of our tax money. (more…)

Dadagiri

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Reality shows are pretty awesome! Of course there are some crap ones that are shot by really rich people who just want to be on tv and jump on the reality tv bandwagon. A few days ago my brother had “How can she slap?” as his facebook message and when i went over to his place he was telling me all about DADAGIRI.

Dadagiri is a reality show from india which is dubbed to be the meanest reality show to ever been shown. Its a show where four daring students revisit the horrors of being bullied on the first day of college by surviving three dada’s(bully’s) in three rounds and compete against each other for a winning sum of Rs. 50,000 in cash.

Now why was my brother’s facebook message HOW CAN SHE SLAP? Its superb reason why..Check it out (more…)

The CEO’s Blog

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Corporate figures have lately started jumping on the blogging bandwagon. You can understand that it make sense for a CEO to blog as they too have they customers who are loyal to their brands and blogging is one way to say without saying hi (if you know what i mean).

The latest blogger in town is the CEO of AirAsia Dato Sri’ Tony Fernandes

I was expecting this coming from the AirAsia boss after his exploits with Kenny Sia, he stated his intend to start his blog to the Malaysian blogger. It should be interesting, if he decides to update it. Hopefully its the man himself blogging and not a new function of the AirAsia corp comm’s team .

You can check out his blog HERE

On the 1st of Sept 2008 a hurricane swept past Kampung Delek , Taman Bertek, Rantau Panjangat Klang. When this happened the Mp of Kapar, YB S Manikavasagam rushed onto the site to his constituency to see what had happened. The Mp who has the reputation of being a “on the field mp”  has a close bond with his constituents and wanted to know exactly what had happened by him self and not by anyone else.

When he reached the site, to his devastation 60 over houses have been devastated by strong Hurricane like wind uprooting roofs and destroying their properties. This was a truly a tragic site, majority of the Malay crowd were fasting and this had to occur to them in the time when they should be gearing up towards Hari Raya.
