Earth Hour 2008

Last night marked the second edition of Earth hour.People switched off lights around the world dimming buildings, hotels, restaurants and bars to show concern at global warming.

Up to 30 million people were expected to have switched off their lights for 60 minutes by the time “Earth Hour” — which started in Suva in Fiji and Christchurch in New Zealand — has completed its cycle westwards against the sun.

More than 380 towns and cities and 3,500 businesses in 35 countries signed up for the campaign that is in its second year after it began in 2007 in Sydney alone.

In Malaysia, thousands toke part in Earth Hour turning off their lights for one hour between 8-9pm. Most people signed up via Earth hour website and several Facebook groups .

The awareness is slowly picking up but one hour alone is not enough! We have to make this a habit, a good habit that will contribute towards mother earth. I know you may think that you alone is not enough but there is exactly where it starts! Do you bit and collectively it will make a difference.

There are several groups on Facebook and local NGO’s that help show us the right way!

Tottenham Are Carling Cup Champions

Tottenham Hotspurs are the Carling cup champion after beating Chelsea 2-1 in extra time at the New Wembley Stadium.This is a superb victory for under achieving Spurs who haven’t won a cup in years and the appointment on Ramos has changed all that.Chelsea went ahead with a Drogba goal then Berbatov scored from the penalty spot and Jonathan Woodgate came out with a header to get the Spurs ahead.Well done spurs and Congrats on the awesome victory!!

Gifts

When it comes to birthdays,anniversaries ,valentines, or just random i personally think its pretty easy to get a girl a gift.Teddy bear,Perfume, Hand Bag,Chain and the crowd favorite of course Flowers!! If you put all those in a small piece of paper pick up one and go ahead and get that gift, your definitely going to make the person you give it too pretty happy.

I was asked once of what i want and after much deliberating, i really don’t know!! Is it really harder to get a guy a gift?

Lets be realistic, if someone asked me what i want ..I would go for the kill, a DSLR? a LCD TV? Tag Heuer watch ? but who we kidding, those cost a lot of money!!

24 Hour Theatre Project

Ever wanted to try your hand in acting ,writing or even directing? I was given a brochure yesterday by a cousin and if this is what you fancy, its a superb opportunity!!

Masakini Theatre Company is running a 24 hour Theatre Project at Istana Budaya in KL. This will showcase works by new or experienced writers, actors and directors whose talents, experience and imagination will be put to test to put up a 10 - 15 minute play within a span of 24 hours for a paying audience!!
